In today's hectic world, there are many people who are stressed out so this is not unusual. The real object of human existence is after all to be happy. There is many a free self help ebook online. The key is to find something that feels right for you at the time of your search. There are self help books that were written many years ago by authors of a different era, some were written about a decade ago and some, only a few years ago. The self help books of long ago may be interesting, but these are cumbersome in the fact that the English used is more complex than what we are used to now.
Getting the self help to be happier in life should be simple and straight forward. Like C. Kingsley said "We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us really HAPPY is something to be ENTHUSIASTIC about."
I have found a self help website created by Helene Malmsio that has around 200 free self help books in many subjects to suit the various areas of your life that needs some self improvement. It is unusual, as this site doesn't need you to register or pay membership fees, or even to subscribe to a newsletter, to be able to download as many self help ebooks as you want. Some sites actually require you to be a registered member in order for you to use its online self help features which you can access through the links on the site, or through an interface.

You might look at the following strategy and think "Oh No! Not more of this simplistic - quick fix - nonsense". Please don't discard this powerful concept just because it is so SIMPLE. Then next ask yourself: "What am I most happy about in my life right now?"
Then ask yourself: "What about that makes me feel happy?"
Notice how your emotions react to the experience of dwelling or thinking about the good and sweet things in your life. If you like the feeling and want more of it, just keep asking yourself the right questions.
When you start each day asking yourself questions that generate a feeling of pleasure, excitement, enthusiasm, just by the act of answering them, your day gets off on the right path.
Try designing self help questions that suit your life or interests, maybe straightforward ones like
* What am I excited about in my life now?
* What am I grateful about in my life now?
* What am I most looking forward to in my life today?
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to apply this self help strategy, do you? All you need is the DESIRE to improve your day and then make the commitment to actually APPLY it every morning for at least 30 days. It will work.
Any self help tool, no matter how powerful, only works when you work it.
So what is stopping you from using the secrets of self help to be happy? To quote Abraham Lincoln "Most people are about as happy as they make up their mind to be."
Again, the key is to look for places that give you plenty of online free resources and tips on self help to be happy. Then remember, you need the commitment to becoming happier by implementing the tools and technology that you learn from them.

Do you have a dream? Or do you just have a nagging feeling that life could better?
Many of us have a life that we know is not what we really want, but perhaps weve become resigned to it, believing that this is all there is for me or its OK, really or even, its too late to change anyway.
The reason for this resignation is usually because of fear. It can be scary to look at what you REALLY want perhaps, once you found it, youd find it was out of your reach and how do you live with that? Perhaps youd find youd have to make difficult sacrifices. Or perhaps you feel you are just not good enough. Is this what you have been told? If so, it was you who chose to believe it. You can also choose to believe otherwise. Most of us have been stopped by fear, lack of confidence, past experience, until we are so hemmed in by our lack of belief, that we accept a life of mediocrity and we decide that there is nothing that we are passionate about, this life is OK for me it will do.
My belief is that everyone everyone has something they are passionate about and getting in touch with that can be an incredibly moving and inspiring experience.
I also believe that EVERYONE can achieve the thing they are passionate about. Whatever it is whether its gardening, climbing mountains, helping people the thing that you love doing most of all is an expression of who you are and that is out there for you.
How, then, do you find that thing THE thing that will bring happiness and fulfilment?
For a moment, forget everything you have been told, or you have told yourself about your inability to succeed. Imagine that there were no obstacles. Imagine that anything is possible.
Do you remember a time, or times, in your life when you were purely happy? Where time became non-existent and you were totally focused on what you were doing? You might have to look right back into your childhood it doesnt matter. It can be something really silly and trivial. Just have a look.
Then, look at what it was about that thing you were doing that made it so wonderful.
When I was little there were two things I really, really loved doing: reading, and climbing trees.
So, how do I transfer climbing trees into my adult life? I have no desire to become a tree surgeon!
Well what I loved about climbing trees was this: every tree was different and its own challenge; there was a definite goal: to get to the top of the tree; and, I could be totally independent no-one could help, I had to do it myself.
Look at these things as a metaphor for life and you can see that I love variety and challenge, I like to be aiming towards something and I love to work for myself. Put this together with what I like about reading: the fascinating characters and the way they develop and you can begin to see why I eventually became a life coach and a writer!
It may not be obvious at first, but if you work on this technique, you may open yourself to the possibilities around you that call to who you are.
And when you have found the thing that you are truly passionate about, what are you going to do to make it happen?
You are going to look all those restricting thoughts that now come to mind those voices in your head that are telling you youre too old, too young, too stupid, not good enough, not brave enough, not clever enough etc, etc - and you are going to put them aside. They are not real they are just thoughts that you have chosen to believe. Then you are going to choose some empowering thoughts you are going to choose to believe in yourself, and you are going to start telling yourself that you are good enough, that you can make it happen. Then you are going to take the first steps towards your goal.
If this seems too difficult at first, you will find it beneficial to work with a coach, who will encourage you every step of the way, and remind you, when things get hard, that anything is possible, that you have the power to make it happen. Your coach will set goals with you, and build your confidence so that your belief in yourself will eventually create the life you are passionate about.

With spring here and summer around the corner, some of you are probably considering a change in your haircolor. I've found that with the arrival of the warmer months, many clients prefer to lighten their hair or add highlights; and the opposite seems to be the case with the cooler months.

With that said, let's quickly review the four categories of haircolor so that you're able to make informed decisions when it comes to your hair! The categories are as follows: temporary, semipermanent, demipermanent, and permanent.

1. Temporary haircolor coats the hair shaft and is easily removed by shampooing. Examples include: color rinses or color-enhancing shampoos.

2. Semipermanent haircolor partially penetrates the hair shaft and slowly fades with shampooing. It doesn't lighten the hair and is usually used to enhance fading haircolor.

3. Demipermanent haircolor doesn't lighten hair and, like semipermanent haircolor, it is used to enhance fading haircolor. It penetrates the hair shaft and lasts longer than semipermanent haircolor.

4. Permanent haircolor is used to both lighten and darken hair, and also to cover grey. It remains in the hair shaft until the growth of new hair.

WHICH IS BETTER/ MORE IMPORTANT?
Love/Trust? Love. Er, well, because I think you can never fully trust people, because we're all so imperfect and we all are too tempted to lie sometimes. But I think if you love someone you can at least know when to not trust them, and you even untrustworthy people need love, right?

Brains/Beauty? Both are important in this world. I'd rather have brains than beauty, though, but is that just something that ugly people say? Do stupid people say they'd rather have brains? What about stupid ugly people, or beautiful smart people?

Relationship/Sex? Relationships are more important, but sex is definitely more fun. Well, no, that's situational. Relationships can be a lot of fun, too. So I guess they're both great.

Family/Friends? Well, friends are more important. But I think you can be friends with your family. I mean, my brother is one of my most important friends (as much as he doesn't care about me and disregards my help, I still love him a lot).

iPod/Cell Phone? I guess a phone is more important. I don't really need an ipod (hence why I don't have one! That means I must need everything else I own though. Yes, I NEED this Shellos plushie!! *huggles*)

Computer/TV? Computer. But if it wasn't for TV, we wouldn't have TV shows (for me to watch on the computer). And that means no Totally Spies!, no Earl, no Sailor Moon, etc. But that's really okay, I'd give up those for computer. I mean, they'd still make porn. And maybe they'd just start making Computer Shows instead of TV shows.

OMG, they should totally do that. Then EVERYTHING could be on demand, and you could subscribe to your fav shows, and buy packages for "channels" that give you all your shows you like.

Food/Drink? DRINK. More important AND better!! Dr Pepper is not a food! But if we were battling like... Dr Pepper and tea vs school burritos and Jolly Pirate Donuts... I'm not sure which I could choose!!

Coke/Pepsi? Coke. It's also more important. Honestly I don't like cola that much anymore though, so... I'll stick with Dr Pepper XDDD (btw I like Pibb as well, but I don't think they're as "rival-y" as Coke and Pepsi, plus they taste so different I can't really compare them...)

Chocolate/Vanilla? Chocolate most of the time... I don't like actually chocolate bars or anything though, but chocolate flavored things (like ice cream).

Double-Sided Tape/One-Sided Tape? Ummmmm It really depends on the purpose...

After being together for over a year, ‘Heroes’ stars Hayden Panetierre and Milo Ventimiglia have reportedly ended their relationship.
A source close to the couple tells US Magazine, “It was a lifestyle conflict. They were in very different places. [Hayden] likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that’s not his style.”

Washington, February 14 (ANI): Amid probe into Chris Browns domestic violence case, reports are now suggesting that it might have been a text message or call from hotel heiress Paris Hilton that prompted a fight between him and his girlfriend Rihanna.

Sources say that Brown and Paris met late Friday night in Hollywood at a party for hip-hop producer Timbaland, and that photographers at nightclub Boulevard 3 captured Paris chatting with Brown at least twice.

One of the pictures shows Paris holding a cell phone or Blackberry, which, according to reports, she might have used to send a message to Brown.

Another picture shows Paris with her right arm around Browns neck, and the two looked cosy.

According to sources, the pair had a lot of time to get to know each other, while Rihanna performed on stage for at least half an hour.

They say that it was Paris who called or text messaged Brown the next night, around midnight, for some kind of get together.

Whatever Pariss message was, it didnt sit well with Rihanna. What followed seems to be a fight that spilled out of the couples car as it headed through Hancock Park and ended with the pop songbird taking a beating, Fox News quoted a source as saying.

Katherine Heigl and TR Knight are definitely leaving Grey's Anatomy, the hit medical drama that was instrumental in making these two actors famous. This was confirmed by one of their co-stars in a recent ambush interview in Los Angeles. After months of rumors and speculation, inside information and "anonymous sources", it looks like the two actors from Grey's Anatomy are on their way out.

James Pickens, who plays DR. Richard Webber on the show, spilled the beans during a recent appearance at the NAACP Image Awards in Beverly Hills saying that Katherine Heigl is leaving Grey's Anatomy
for good. When reporters asked him about it, this was what he had to say, "Yes, she is. Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best." Apparently, Heigl is leaving to pursue other projects in the industry. This followed months of speculation that she is leaving after her refusal to put her name in for Emmy consideration and the time she has devoted more time to producing a film version of Carolyn Jessop's book Escape.

With regards to TR Knight, Pickens also confirmed his departure. "He's going too," Pickens continued. "He just wanted to pursue other career paths." This follows rumors that Knight has been asking producers to let him out of his contract. According to reports, Knight complains to Katherine Heigl a lot during taping and thinks his continued presence brings down the energy on the set.

No official word yet from the producers or writers of the show about these revelations from James Pickens. Although his word may be considered reliable, it will not be official until the creators of the series make an official announcement. Let's wait and see.

"Ya sure," you think. "And the minute I open my heart to you, youll find a way to stab me in it, bleeding the ground red with my trust."
So you shun him.
"No thank you," you say, your reservations creeping back in. "Im better off alone."
"If you honestly believed that you wouldnt keep venturing out here looking," the man tells you, and now as you observe him closer you see that he is a handsome man "handsome devil" perhaps with malice in mind. But the twinkle in his eye insists that you stay and hear him out.
"When a fisherman goes out to the lake he has to cast his line again and again before he lands a good catch. Sometimes the catch is no good and he has to throw it back. Sometimes he waits all day and goes home with nothing. But yknow what?"
"What?" you ask breathlessly as the fish analogy seems to resonate with you (what with your fascination with barn animals).
"The fisherman will come back the next day, and the next, and the day after that. And hell wait patiently with his line cast and eventually, after days of bad fish, no fish, and so-so fish, the fisherman will land his prize fish and hell pull it from the water and proclaim that it is the most beautiful sight hes ever laid his eyes on. Then hell hang up his pole, satisfied with his catch, and return home never to fish again."
"Thats a lovely story," you speak truthfully from your open heart now and the man, his own heart pounding open and free, is equally as truthful in his reply.
"And you are the most beautiful sight Ive ever laid my eyes on."
An involuntary smile spreads your lips wide and your open heart accepts love in for the first time in years.
"So youre going to hang up your fishing pole now?" you ask.
"Never did like fishing much." he replies.
There you have it. All grown up and ready to taqke the plunge...again. Still seeking that "happily ever after" and all thanks to that Cupid dressed in black.

She stopped speaking when she realized that he had gone completely quiet. She held her breath, wondering when the next explosion was going to come. Instead, he sat down abruptly and waved her back to her chair.

Very good. You passed the test, he said, picking up a pen.

What test? she asked, edging her way back into the chair.

t Santa, you know, have his own elves? she asked, still not sure that he was completely in charge of his senses.

Of course Santa has his own elves. However, when hes here at The Zone we supply him with courtesy elves so that they can continue making toys at the North Pole, Mr. Peterson told her.

So, Im going to be a courtesy elf? she asked.

He nodded and handed her a single sheet of paper. Sign this.

She took it. What? Just one thing to sign? She had expected another huge stack of forms that would leave her hand cramped for hours afterward.

He nodded curtly. re now in our system as a regular seasonal employee. All of your other paperwork transfers.

Regular seasonal sounded like some kind of contradiction to her, but she was still not entirely convinced his outburst had been a test. She scanned it, signed her name, and then handed it back to him.

Good. Report to wardrobe on Saturday for your costume fitting, he said.

Okay, thank you, she said, standing up and backing toward the door.

Welcome back, Candy, he said, smiling faintly.

As soon as she was outside the building, she whipped out her cell phone and called her friend Josh, a fellow employee of The Zone.

he asked when he picked up.

I think Mr. Peterson has seriously lost it, she said. He totally flipped out on me.

Josh laughed. Let me guess. Youre going to be an elf.

So he was serious? That was some whacked-out test?

Yeah. Elves are considered a class-one stress position, and it can get pretty intense.

How hard can it be to be an elf? she asked.

She was rewarded by a burst of laughter on the other end.

Josh, what is it youre not telling me?

He just kept laughing.

Okay, seriously. You were the one who convinced me to work Holly Daze. I think its only fair you tell me whatever it is I need to know.

he gasped. She wasnt sure if he was apologizing or refusing to tell her.

A girl bounced around the corner and slammed into Candace.

Josh, Ill call you later, she said, hanging up.

Becca apologized.

Becca was one of Candaces other friends from the park, one who had some sort of bizarre allergy to sugar that made her uncontrollably hyper. Candace looked suspiciously at Becca. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes were glistening, and she was hopping from one foot to the other.

You didnt have sugar, did you? Candace asked, fear ripping through her.

No! Promise, Becca said.

Then what gives?

Roger made me laugh really hard, Becca explained.

Roger had a crush on Becca and had wanted to ask her out since Halloween. It hadnt happened yet.

was all Candace could think to say.

So, are you working Holly Daze? Becca asked.

Yeah. Im going to be an elf.

Suddenly, Becca went completely still, and the smile left her face. m sorry, she said.

Candace asked.

Becca just shook her head. ve gotta get back to the Muffin Mansion. Ill catch you later.

She hurried off, and Candace watched her go. Okay, now I know theres something -people arent telling me.

She debated about following Becca and forcing her to spill, but instead she headed for the parking lot where her best friend Tamara was waiting. She walked through the Exploration Zone, one of the several themed areas in the park.

The Zone theme park was created and owned by John
Hanson, a former professional quarterback who believed in healthy competition at work and play. His theme park had several areas, or zones, where -people could compete with each other and themselves at just about anything. Almost everyone who worked at The Zone was called a referee. The exceptions were the costumed characters called mascots. Most of them, including Candaces boyfriend, Kurt, were to be found in the History Zone. -People visiting the park were called players, and the areas of the park they could reach were called on field. Only refs could go off field.

Candace cut through an off field area to get to the referee parking lot. She waved at a few other -people she recognized from her time spent working there. Finally, she slid into her friends waiting car.

So are you going to be the Christmas queen? Tamara asked.

What am I, Lucy VanPelt? Theres no Christmas queen in Charlie Browns Christmas play, and theres no Christmas queen in The Zone, Candace said.

Tamara fake pouted. Are you sure? I think Id make a beautiful Christmas queen.

Candace laughed. Tamara was gorgeous, rich, and fun. Her whole family practically redefined the word wealthy, and, with her dark hair and olive skin, Tamara was usually the prettiest girl in any room. She didnt let it go to her head, though. Anybody who knew Tamara would vote for her as Christmas queen.

Although I think you would, theyre only hiring elves.

re going to be an elf? Tamara smirked.

Hey, it beats being a food cart vendor, Candace said.

But youre so good at it. Cotton candy, candy corn .. you can sell it all.

Thanks, I think. So, what are we doing tonight? Kurts going to swing by at six to pick us up. Just mentioning her boyfriends name was enough to make Candace smile. She closed her eyes for just a minute and pictured him as she had first seen himwearing a Lone Ranger costume. With his charm and piercing blue eyes, she had fallen for him right away.

You told him my house, right? Tamara said, interrupting her thoughts.

Yeah. So, whos this guy youre taking?

Tamara sighed.

Uh-huh. And?

Remember my cousin Tina?



Well, she broke up with him over the summer, and hes been all shattered since then. He wont date other girls; he just mopes over her.

Candace said sarcastically.

Tell me about it. Well, Tina asked me if I could help him get his confidence back and get over her or something.

A pity date? Are you kidding me? You want Kurt and I to double date with you on a pity date?

You dont think Im about to go by myself, do you? No way. Thats the best-friend creed. When youre happy, Im happy. When Im miserable, you have to be too.

Candace said, rolling her eyes. So, where are we going?

s the problem. I was thinking dinner, but then wed have to talk, and frankly, I dont want to hear him go on about Tina. Then I thought we could see a movie.

You wouldnt have to talk to him, Candace confirmed.

Yeah, but what if

He tries to grab a hand or put his arm around you.

Exactly, and I dont think me giving him a black eye was what Tina had in mind.

I guess that also rules out any kind of concert possibilities? Candace asked wistfully.

Yup. Sorry.

So, what did you come up with?

I was thinking .. theme park?

No way. Kurt doesnt like to spend his downtime there.

I thought he took you to that romantic dinner there over the summer.

It was the nicest restaurant he knew, and he got an employee discount.

Tamara said.

Plus, ever since we got trapped in there overnight, hes been even more adamant about avoiding it when hes off work.

I cant believe you two get to be the stuff of urban legend, and you dont even appreciate it.

Candace sighed. It was true that she and Kurt had spent one of the most miserable nights of their relationship trapped inside the theme park. Urban legend, though, had since transformed the story so that they were supposedly chased through the park by a psycho killer. It was still embarrassing to have -people point at her and say that she was the one. Around Halloween she had given up trying to correct -people. They were going to believe what they wanted.

Earth to Candace. Helloooo?

Sorry. So, what does that leave us with? Shopping?

No need to torture both our dates, Tamara said.

Then what?

I donminiature golf! Tamara suddenly shrieked, so loudly that Candace jumped and slammed her head into the roof of the car.

Tam! Dont scare me like that.

Sorry. Miniature golf. What do you think? Built-in talking points, lots of movement, and zero grabby potential.

I like it. Ill have to borrow one of your jackets though.

At least youll have an actual excuse this time, Tamara teased.

A few minutes later they were at Tamaras house and upstairs raiding her wardrobe. As Tamara considered and discarded a fifth outfit, Candace threw up her hands.

Maybe if youd tell me what youre looking for, I could help.

Candace stared at her friend for a moment before she burst out laughing. She fell to the floor, clutching her stomach as tears streamed down her face. Tamara crossed her arms and tapped her foot, and Candace just laughed harder.

I dont know why you think thats so funny. You know I dont go past kissing.

Tam, nuns cant even do that. And if youre looking for something that will completely hide your body, then youre going to have to go to the mall instead of the closet. You dont own anything that doesnt say look at me. Im sorry, but its true.

Really? Maybe we should go to your house. Think I could find what Im looking for in your closet.
