The Truth About Flight Crews. Part 1. By Captain Mark Johnstone I was recently in LA taking a flight for a friend whose wife died suddenly. While our crew was at TSA security for our return trip, I was approached by a fairly young businessman who wanted to ask me a question. We stepped aside and he asked, "Do you flight crews have all the sex that you are reported to have? I was just curious." "Well, my friend," I said, "I guess you are referring to the porno movies that have us having sex in-flight and staying behind after the flight to heat up the cabin or cockpit, right?" Blushing, he said, ‘Well, yes. Is it true?" "No, it is not," I said, "At least not like that!" "So it does happen?" he continued. "Well, on occasion I guess it might, but it's just not always the case. We are just people. Many are family people—men and women making a living for their families. Many flight attendants and pilots today are mothers and grandmothers. Pilots are fathers and grandfathers. Some, like me, are single. If you want to fantasize then be my guest. Sorry to burst your bubble. Are you disappointed?" "Well, I see your job as a glamorous one and having all the fringe benefits of beautiful flight attendants around you all the time, exotic places in the world, and the sex." "Well, let me tell you the tremendous responsibility we have to care for the souls aboard. My co-pilot and I have to know flight systems, every square inch of this ship, and how they relate in case of an emergency. Our flight attendants are more than pretty waitresses. They, too, are well-trained in case we have to deal with an emergency. So, there is a lot of stress involved with our jobs, all so we can get you to your next business meeting." At that our flight crew had to board and do our pre-flight duties.

Several years ago, Satoshi Kanazawa, then a psychologist at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, analyzed a biographical database of 280 great scientists--mathematicians, physicists, chemists, and biologists. When he calculated the age of each scientist at the peak of his career--the sample was predominantly male--Kanazawa noted an interesting trend. After a crest during the third decade of life, scientific productivity--as evidenced by major discoveries and publications--fell off dramatically with age. When he looked at the marital history of the sample, he found that the decline in productivity was less severe among men who had never been married. As a group, unmarried scientists continued to achieve well into their late 50s, and their rates of decline were slower.
"The productivity of male scientists tends to drop right after marriage," says Kanazawa in an e-mail interview from his current office at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom. "Scientists tend to 'desist' from scientific research upon marriage, just like criminals desist from crime upon marriage."
Kanazawa's perhaps controversial perspective is that of an evolutionary psychologist. "Men conduct scientific research (or do anything else) in order to attract women and get married (albeit unconsciously)," he says. "What's the point of doing science (or anything else) if one is already married? Marriage (or, more accurately reproductive success, which men can usually attain only through marriage) is the goal; science or anything else men do is but a means. From my perspective, scientists are no different than anybody else; evolutionary psychology applies to all humans equally," he adds.
The Marriage Toll on Women
Marriage has also been shown to have an adverse impact on the careers of female scientists. Data from the National Science Foundation show that female, doctoral-level scientists, and engineers are less likely to be married than are their male counterparts (66% versus 83%). Among those married, however, women are more likely to confront problems accommodating a two-career marriage--one reason being that they are twice as likely as men to have a spouse who works full-time.
Add children to the mix, and the problem is compounded. Research by Kimberlee Shauman, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of California, Davis, found that time off for birth and child rearing poses a significant, often irreversible, impediment to a woman's career.
Marriages That Enhance Careers
Is marriage truly and inevitably a scourge for male and female scientists? Or can it help advance scientific careers? To hear some real-world viewpoints on the impact of marriage on a science career, I raised the issue on the ScienceCareers Forum.
Several forum contributors saw marriage as a source of emotional and financial stability rather than a dangerous undertow. David, a molecular biologist, met his wife while both were in graduate school. Now married for 6 years, David "wouldn't change anything. I cannot even imagine trying to get through all that I (we) have without her as a partner."
"Having a working spouse in graduate school or as a postdoc can be a tremendous advantage since you're no longer trying to make do on the single, low-level salary," says Rich, an engineer. "In my case, it's also helped that I've been very good at making sure my career is part of my life--and not the other way around."
"I'm a final year Ph.D. student," says another. "We both are in medical research, and she's got a master's degree and believe me, it helps to be married. We both don't have enough money, but there's a lot of happiness as each day is exciting, a great future to think about."
Kristen married her closest colleague 6 months before completing her dissertation and is satisfied with what she calls her "in-lab" and "at-home" collaboration. "One major advantage is that we are both scientists, in a similar field of research, and we understand the drive and passion that is part of the profession. Having someone who understands you and supports you wholeheartedly is a great asset through grad school, the postdoc years, and beyond."
Last month, when I attended a writers' conference in New York, one of the speakers was Sreenath Sreenivasan, an assistant professor and dean of students at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A scene he described from his marriage evoked a vivid image in my mind. He was sitting against his pillow in bed with his laptop in hand. His busy, multitasking wife (a management consultant and mother of twin toddlers) was also working on a laptop, seated right beside him. The two were tending electronically to their demanding jobs, but they were also instant messaging each other, obviously on the same emotional "bandwidth" in their devotion to both career and marriage.
Marriages That Fall Apart
Some marriages aren't strong enough to withstand the strains of a scientific career. "I was always hoping it would get better--after graduation, after the postdoc, after tenure," says Chris, a second-year postdoc in Canada. "Unfortunately, nothing improved. If anything, it got worse (more committees, more conferences, more papers, more students, more grants, more reviews, and more frustration). I would say if you are the scientist, yes, get married. If you are the scientist's partner, think long and hard if you can live with that in your relationship," he says.
Rewton, a tenured associate professor with a 9-year-old child, couldn't agree more about the personal challenges posed by a scientific career. "The balance of work and home life has always been an issue in our marriage. There is a certain scientific culture that is difficult to relate to for a non-scientist," he says. "It was a more serious issue earlier in my career when I was jockeying for faculty jobs, etc., but it is still an issue."
"I was married to a fellow scientist, but the relationship deteriorated after I got a faculty position (and he didn't). My new job forced us into a long-distance marriage (300 miles) which didn't survive," says Elizabeth.
Nasif, the principal in a Mexico-based organization called Biology Cabinet, recounts that over 30 years of marriage, his wife was jealous of the time he devoted to his career. As his work continued to increase, she became bitter and finally left. He doesn't blame her. "What bothers our wives is neglect. Buy her a rose bouquet each week, when you purchase scientific supplies for yourself like a book, a microscope, a Petri dish, etc."
Marriages That Never Happen
Many scientists complain that the very nature of a science career limits opportunities to find a partner. "Much of science is disproportionately male," says Chad, an engineering trainee. "There were weeks during graduate school where I literally did not speak to a female. I also remember attending parties of 50 people or more, yet you could count the women on one hand; all of whom were taken."
"The moving-around issue is a huge problem," he adds. "Even if I found my dream girl, which is unlikely given the intense workload, why would she be interested? Fewer things are a bigger downer than telling a date that you'll be moving to a distant place in the near future."
"To be honest, I was one of those people who put everything on hold through my scientific career," says Os. "However, I wouldn't suggest others do this because meeting people and starting relationships just gets harder."
"It's like Noah's Ark, and you've missed the great pairing up," says Kelly.
According to a recent article in the German newspaper Die Zeit, it's not only finding a partner but also starting a family that is made more difficult by a scientific career. The article reported on a study of scientists ranging from doctoral students to assistant professors. It found that a whopping 73% of 37- to 42-year-olds had no children. Explaining the phenomenon, the article noted that it is so difficult for scientists to find a permanent position in Germany that those below the age of 40 are often forced to take short-term employment without any financial or residential stability.
Making It Work
Unfortunately, the academic climate often exacerbates the problems inherent in scientist marriages. "The situation of young families can be especially problematic given the long road (from undergraduate to graduate to postdoc to junior scientist) that certainly extends through a woman's fertile years," says a postdoc, who is also a parent of a young child. "The Whitehead Institute, Caltech, and Stanford have made steps in the right direction, but the current training environment is not 'family-friendly', " he adds.
This postdoc then rattles off his wish list: more liberal leave programs that allow graduate students and postdocs time off; small grants to hire technical or institutional support staff to help manage experiments when a sick baby has to be picked up from daycare; assistance in defraying the costs of childcare; loan assistance for postdocs; options for part-time work; and comprehensive administrative, financial, and legal assistance.
Other trainees note that juggling science and marriage often requires sacrifice as well as flexibility: giving up a job opportunity to allow a partner to remain in his or her lab, missing a family event to keynote a conference, or being late for work because of taking care of a sick child, for instance. "In a perfect world, you could have it all, never sacrificing anything for either marriage or career," says Liz. "The world isn't perfect. Is it worth it? Every minute."
"Sacrifice is a two-way street. Sometimes you sacrifice time in the lab to spend with a girlfriend or a wife, but I can tell you it's well worth it. In the end, when your friends get married and have their own families, your parents pass away, and families move apart and you grow older, your gel box isn't going to be there for you on the holidays and those moments when you need someone for support," says Bob. "Really, what's the point of discovering the greatest thing in the world if you have no one to tell it to when you come home?"

In this highly entertaining story, the author provides us with both unique characters and a fascinating plot based on Norse mythology.

Logan Saeter and Kiran Tate, on the run from Oliver Grimm, decide to hire PI Jordan Grey to help them prove that they are the Norse gods Loki and Baldur and that Oliver is actually Odin, an evil god who has framed the pair and is determined to destroy them. The problem is that Jordan is Grimms step-granddaughter and she is reluctant to believe the pairs highly unlikely tale of being godsuntil they prove it to her. Jordan agrees to help Logan and Kir, but by doing so puts herself in danger as Grimm is not one to mess with and is determined to get rid of Logan and Kir along with anyone that stands in his way. As the threesome spends more time together and work to figure out a way to prove Logan and Kirs innocence, they quickly discover a love and bond that they never expected.

With this fascinating and unique story, the author has provided us with quite a wonderful bunch of characters, both main and secondary, that really enhanced the story and added to my enjoyment. I was especially taken with the main threesome of the story, Kir, Logan, and Jordan. Having been faithful lovers for so long, Kir and Logan are both shocked and surprised by the attraction and love they feel for Jordan upon meeting and getting to know her. They are quite a fascinating pair with their various godly abilities, such as controlling the weather and instant healing, and I found myself liking them both a great deal. I enjoyed each new revelation about the men and what they were capable of doing.

I felt that Jordan was a perfect match for them with her quick wit and great personality. The three were great together and I really enjoyed their interactions and found myself smiling on more than one occasion at their banter. She fit in so well with them it was as if they had known her for years rather than days. I really enjoyed their camaraderie and easy relationship as well as the passion that simmers between them all. The love scenes are quite touching and erotic as they get to know each other intimately.

In addition to the main characters, there is quite a fascinating cast of supporting characters including the antagonist Grimm as well as other Norse gods and Jordans family members who we meet as the story progresses. Each character has an important role in the story and I enjoyed meeting and getting to know each of them and look forward to seeing more of them in future books.

As for the plot, I felt it was quite unique and unlike anything I had read previously. You dont see too many romances involving the Norse gods (or at least I havent). I couldnt wait to see how things would unfold as Logan, Kir, and Jordan took on Grimm and I was quite surprised by the outcome. The plot seemed to flow effortlessly and the pacing of the story was great. I became lost in the story and read it in one sitting and couldnt believe it when I reached the end.

I can hardly wait to read the next book so I can see what happens with all of the characters in the story. I applaud Ms. Bell for a job well-done as this unique and fascinating book is definitely a keeper for me. In fact, I already want to re-read it.

Erotic Times: Tantalizing Tuesday

*long sigh* It's so good to be home. I admit to having a lot of fun last week at the RT Convention in Orlando, I will say that it's even better coming home. Of course, there's the work that I've got to catch up on, all the unpacking and catching up on the home stuff - including grocery shopping I don't trust my husband to do - and just the recovery time of being "out of loop" for a short time.

The best part? (besides the gorgeous male models wandering around all over the place) was meeting the authors that I interact with on the net.
Dakota Cassidy and Stephanie Burke are just as lively and snarky as they are online. They had me laughing so hard. That type of humor is truly a gift!
Koko Brown is beautiful and sweet. She looked awesome in her yellow fairy costume.
I had a lot of fun with Kiernan Kelly and my roomie, Isabelle Drake.
Michele Armstrong had no problem with my "hand talking". lol
Joey W. Hill was very down to earth and very friendly. Oh, and don't get me started on Lynne Connolly's wonderful English accent. I could really listen to her for hours.
There were so many people I met that it's hard to really list them all, but not once did I have a bad experience with any of them.
The hotel? I had a few minor problems at the beginning but they were taken care of quickly. Now, I heard stories about others' horror with the place, but I'll just say that for a hotel of that size, I have few complaints as I'm pretty easy and forgiving.
I took some pictures of course. :) But I havne't managed to upload them anywhere yet. That's for either tonight or tomorrow to do. Once I do, I'll get a link and let you know this week.
Now, off to actually get some work done. :D
Oh, and today was my day to blog over at Slash Burn.

Kendras given up on men, then she meets Val. The sexy new principle of their school refuses to let Kendra run away from her feelings and their relationship. When he forces her to confront her deepest fears, he shows her that they really are meant to be together.

In the twist on this rather classic romance tale, Kendra is a woman with a little something extra. A woman born in a mans body, she knew early on which gender she was regardless that she has a penis. But not having the perfect body of a woman has kept Kendra from dating. Her fear of rejection causes her to lash out and treat Val horribly. She cant believe that he could possibly want her, need her and love her so her response is to consistently sabotage their budding relationship and then run away. This fear of intimacy and emotion is an important aspect of Kendras personality as she seeks the very thing she fears. The author affords an honest characterization of actions and personality traits that will not always resonate in a positive way to the reader.

Kendra has hints of a sympathetic character, yet its difficult to like such a polarizing personality, even if its a genuine depiction. Her fear and anger cause her to spend a considerable amount of time ensuring no one will want to be with her, regardless of her body. I certainly understood why Val should leave her alone on numerous occasions, but at the same time I felt bad for Kendra being her own worst enemy. Shes always running off to bathrooms and seems to fall down quite a bit, leaving these characteristics as part of her sullen attitude rather than charming quirks. Its difficult to understand Vals persistent attraction to Kendra until near the end, but the hope exists that she may calm down with his consistent affections.

Val is not very well defined in that his emotions swing repeatedly and he lacks any real depth as a character. Hes mostly the perfect gentleman, never remarking on Kendras wild behavior and even going so far as to accept her almost abusive office sex. Why within the span of a week, he is in love with her and wants to marry her is a mystery considering Kendra spends much of the week actively working to have him dislike her. However, considering the context of Kendras emotional difficulties and the ending information about Vals proclivities, the relationship begins to make more sense. I just wish the author hadnt waited until the near end of the story to add this much needed depth and information to the at times chaotic mix of emotion and action.

There were positive aspects to the book in that the supporting characters of Kendras friends were well drawn, if not always likable. Additionally, both Kendra and Val are complex characters that show the mercurial nature of someone with a bipolar personality and thus swings from likeable to dislikeable but in an entirely realistic portrayal. The author definitely shows potential in her writing and characters, but the subject matter may limit her audience. Few books are able to look at the complex problems surrounding MtF transgenders with a realistic and untainted view, unafraid of the reader not being able to connect and relate to the characters. While this wasnt a book I entirely enjoyed, I didnt hate it and for those who are looking for an m/m twist on the classic office romance theme, this may fill that for you. If nothing else, this is an interesting and honest look at the problems and emotions surrounding an often ignored group of people.

I drove away from my house in a hurry, downshifting for speed. As I got near town and started fighting the traffic, I thought about Janet, the chick I was on my way to see. She worked at the record store downtown, and told me when I was there earlier that if I came by at closing, I would probably get lucky! We have been flirting over the last 6 weeks or so, every time I go in there. She is college-age, kind of freaky. She has her hair dyed black and a nose-ring and wears ALL KINDS of eye makeup, but you can tell she is really pretty underneath and God, what a bod! She has nice hips, a slim waist and a perfect set of gorgeous 36C's! She's always wearing these jeans that drag the floor because she has them pushed way down her hips, and tight t-shirts that aren't quite long enough for her. This shows off her flat tummy and navel in the sexiest way. Anyway, as I pulled into the parking lot, I could see the closed sign was already up. I walked up to the front door peered in. She was in the back, but she saw me. She sauntered up to unlocked the door let me in.

We're back from london, 2.5k richer and tbh had such a good time the money was just a bonus.

Full TR here, cliffnotes at the bottom:

4pm: In theory we should all be at station. Joe car has been hit so he's running late, and Dave is somewhere in the underground network so he's running late. Me, Jeal (railing ftw) Wakes and Tidey find a ladbrokes and have a horse dip. I'm chuffed since I've just had a phone call confirming my MSc place for next year!

4.45pm: Everyones here. Team McDonalds (lol) then we walk from Liverpool st in what we think is the place.

5.30pm: Arrive at the loose cannon club 1 hr early, so hunt for a nearby pub. We get a table next to the thames and proceed to play a turbo sng. "making a boat on the thames!"

6.30pm: Go back to LCC. Get greeted by PokerPlayer magazine, apparently they love my "iShip" username. There's a free bar, and I am not drinking, standard. Leeds turn up already hammered, Reading appear in named shirts and LSE are sitting about without a care in the world. We get told to finalise our team orders etc, then about 7 we kick off. It was one table of Leeds vs Reading and one of UEA vs LSE, with 2 matches going at once (then when one match finished another starting). The starting stacks are 4k at 25 50 with 10 minute blind levels, so a bit of a shoot, but not toooo bad.

First up for UEA were Joe and Tidey. Joe gets a guy from LSE who looks alright but after a few hands you could see he was way too nitty for HU. Tidey gets a bit of a spew monkey and has to make a couple of gay laydowns early, but grinds back to even, then gets a chiplead. With blinds at 200 400 or so Tidey gets it in with AQs vs 99 (tidey covers by a fair bit) and binks a Q on the flop to put us 1-0. This means I now start my match against a guy called Alvin. Was a really nice guy, very talkative which was handy and made it very clear when he was weak / bluffing. I check raised a couple of times with air and double barrelled once to keep me in it as i was ridiculously dry. With my blinds getting a bit higher Joe is getting it in on the other table. He had 3:1 chiplead and shipped with A7 from the sb and LSE had A9. Joe of course hits a 7 on flop and another on river for trips, was a standard spot though and there were no complaints from LSE who had let himself go down to 4BBs anyway! 2-0 UEA.
This meant Dave got underway vs a bit of a loony whilst I still struggled on running like crap on the other side of the table. I was at 5k:3k with blinds at 200 400 when I see Dave winning a decent sized pot, and being 5k:3k chip leader on his game. The guy he was playing kept making it 600 to go at 50 100, Dave picked up LOYAL 3's and ended up shipping...of course the other guy had AK. But, as we all know 3's are loyal and they held for 3-0!
Like that the pressure was off me, I got it in at 400:800 as a 40:60 dog twice, once to double up then once for the win and won both to leave us with a 4-0 scoreline. Happy days.

9pm: We broke for dinner elated and with Reading vs Leeds still underway. By this point leeds were smashed and reading should really win, which they ended up doing 4-1.

10pm: We start the final. 8k stacks but at 50 100, so no different really!
Wakes has been moved up our order to 1st so him and Joe start. Wakes opponent is a very emotional player and although it was even for a while Wakes was 10:6k, then 12k 4k, then 13k 3k. At 300 600 the guy limps and Wakes ships with A9. His oppo looks a bit frustrated and moans at wakes for being too aggressive etc (lol) and calls off with J10. A 10 on the flop and running bricks means its now 10k 6k again, and we're at 400 800. at ~12k ~4k Wakes ships with 67 and gets snap called by A10, we don't win our 40:60 for the win and now its even stacks! This really sucked since we wanted to get off to a good start, and we're now 8k:8k at 400 800. Given the amount the guy was folding Wakes decided to ship with 5s 2h on the sb, unfortunately our emotional opponent had AKhh so of course snapped. So another 35:65 for UEA, 3rd time lucky? Flop comes Ks 10s 9h and our goose looks cooked. But we still have 6% equity which is all Wakes needs...6s turn gives us a flush draw and the 2s is our 5 high flush, UEA 1-0. The guy was pretty funny, jumping back and sounding the bad beat alarm, but at the end of the day it was 3 flips where we were once favourite, once 60:40 dog and once 65:35 dog, everyone one of them for the UEA win....so its not exactly beat of the year.

Tidey then starts his game vs a guy who seemed alot like Tidey, but it was clear that we had a decent edge. Was no discredit to the Reading guy, it's just Tidey is a hu sng player predominatly. Joes game is still going on, blinds 500 1k! Eventually Joe gets 44 on the sb with 8.8k:7.2k and ships, Reading have AA and Aces hold. Joe doubles and doubles again to be on 4k, then they get it in Q3dd vs 32hh and its Readings turn to suck out in the 30:70 as a heart flush fills on the river for an 8k pot. 1-1.

So now I'm playing the Reading president as Tidey plays next to me, and seems to be owning souls as per calling with A high on a K 9 9 4 2 board and shipping a 3k pot.
Unfortunately I run into AA about 20 hands in which isn't nice, and am quickly down to 4k. I grind back to 6k after check raising with air, was pretty sick how bad I ran when it came to decent hu hands. Couldn't get a K10+ to save my life! Get 22 on the button at 200 400 andlimp, he checks. Board comes QQQ. He check calls 500, pot 1800. Turn is a K, he leads for 1200. I didn't want to see an A or K turn as I was pretty sure he was just calling the flop with A/K high, but I don't see why he leads ever since he loses all value from lesser hands and he seemed competetent enough to know that. So I make the call, pot now over 4k and I have 4k behind. River is an 8 and he checks, I of course check behind. He has A8 for a river 6 outer and I lose a pot to put me back on starting stack. Cheers then. A few hands later I pick up 77 and make it 1k, he flats. Board comes J 3 2 rainbow, he checks and I get tricky and check behind. Turn the 6c putting out a flush draw, he checks again and I meekily bet 1250 like a bluff. He pretty quickly reships and I think I have to call given how I've played the hand. He has KJ, wp, and I don't hit my 2 outer. 2-1 Reading.

Dave starts vs their supposed worst player, who got 3 points overall in the online qualifiers. Was a really nice guy but you could tell he wasn't exactly superb. One hand the board read Q 9 3 9 two diamonds two hearts. Reading led, Dave raised, Reading 3 bet, Dave 4-bet shoved and he folds, apparently with a flush draw. Given he was getting 3:1 and it was for the whole tournament win I doubted it, but lucky old Dave is up to 11.5k:5.5k and looking good.

Tidey is on 11k:5k at 500 1000 and like a true hero gets it in with 99 vs A2. Of course the A rolls off on the turn, emotional reading guy who is now getting quite happy and explaining where he's going to put the novelty cheque is of course chanting, as Tidey just sits back and takes the beat like a gent. 6k:10k ish.

Back o Daves table, we see Dave open from the sb and Reading call. Board comes 8 7 2 rainbow. Reading lead, and Dave raised to about 1.6k iirc. Reading ship all in, if Dave calls and loses he'll still have 6k or so. Dave announces call. Reading flip A8 for tptk and Dave flips 99 for the overpair, Reading have 5 outs. (I thought Dave had 89 at the time, lol.) Dave holds and we're 2-2 with Tideys match still going! We had discussed a chop but the Reading prez said no, so it was Tidey grinding ftw. He of course pulls back his deficit to be 10k:6k again without showdown, with blinds now at 600 1200.
Reading ship from the SB and Tidey announces call. Reading flip Kh 8h and Tidey has Ah 6d. WIN A 60:40 ONE TIME?!?!?!

Board: 6h (YES!) Qh (sick) 9h (FUCK.) Reading go a bit barmy, but me and wakes (shouting) realise we still have the Ah for the nutflush redraw.

Turn: Kc.

River: 3h. GET IN!!! We all went a bit nuts, standard loyal 3 coming on the riv for the win. Reading were awesome about it too, a tad dejected (as im sure we would be too) but we both agreed it was a pleasure playing each other in the final. Photoshoot for PokerPlayer magazine (I am
IGHT RED in the photos, normal) and one big novelty cheque for $2.5k. Ship it.

We then all had some drinks and headed to the empire casino at leicester sq, where everyone asked me about my giant cheque. Lorenzo from poker soc was there too, hero. Thank god there was a cloakroom though, I didn't fancy walking around with it all night! We played some 1/2 cash and roulette etc til 5am, and Wakes got smashed. Headed back to liverpool st to get the 6am train back to Norwich. I left with 40 in my wallet and came back with 43 thanks to roulette spin ups!

Was pretty much the sickest 24 hours in recent history.

Cliffnotes:

1. Go to london for the pokerplayer/bet365 student poker finals
2. Beat LSE in HU matches 4-0 and Reading 3-2 including a sick flip at the end to win the whole thing
3. Run good at roullette to pay for all my food, taxis, drinks, 1 2 dip
4. Have a place on my MSc course next year
5. Have a giant novelty cheque for $2.5k in my living room
6. ??????
7. Profit!

Ty to Jeal for railing and ty to the PokerPlayer magazine team for putting on a sick tournament for students. Was well run, and I think the whole spirit of the thing overrided any taint that the drunken Leeds players may have put on the event.

Now got to think about a PhD Industrial Econ thesis...am going with something along the lines of:

"The UK Gambling industry, firm signalling and regulation"

Lovely.

I have been a member of 3 sites of this sort since a friend told me about them. My own sister did the same and I thought they were nuts! I went through the moral issues as I am sure most of the True Sb’s out there do and then after hearing about and watching the things they got to do and enjoy I decided to give it a shot. I have had several different experiences and Maybe a few of them can help some of you SB’s and SD’s alike.
Now first off I am not an under 25 barbie doll as someone up there mentioned thats the ones that they pick. I have always been drawn to older men though as they know what they want and are looking for more than just sex but someone that is not involved with their day to day life and none of the drama a true romantic relationship brings. I always am very up front about who I am and what I am. I am 38 years old..and on the thicker side..although I think I look pretty good for my age hehe as I do get hit on frequently. I also try to be extreamly cautious…although I DO NOT force the SD’s to come to me. Espcialy if you understand that these men if they are NOT married which would make a trip out of town more difficult most of the time have very busy schedules too. I just make sure that I am emailed a departure and most importantly a return ticket and I verify that it is valid with the airlines before I go anywhere. And a paid hotel reservation also sent to me via email so I can make sure I am taken care of no matter what and the only thing my name is on is the reservations not the billing so I am not responsiable or get stuck.
Now let me tell you first I have not done this lots of times but just a few and have had some WONDERFUL and some very interesting experiances. I have come to the conclusion that no matter how many questions you ask..there are always ones you wish you had but would never have thought of..hehe
I have had a total of 4 SD’s meetings. 2 of them were WONDERFUL men and 2 of them were interesting but just not for me although I did have a good time. I got very lucky as my very first adventure as I like to call it was from a Phenomenal Man I met via this site who lived in Beverly Hills. Now being a Northern CA girl that wasnt to far for me to worry about. After a drive to the airport it was only an hour flight to LAX where he met me and proved to me after the extended messenger and phone conversations we had had that he was just as my gut told me a wonderful man. He was very aplogetic as his buisness had suddenly gotten very busy and we had planned to spend the whole next day together and that was not going to happen..but to make it up to me he took very good care of me. We went to a very expensive restaurant both nights I was there. Places I could never have imagined going in my life by the way. Put me up in the Beverly Hill’s hotel and the day I was alone most of the day I was told to take advantage of any of the services provided by the hotel so I had myself a little spa day with a wonderful hot rock pedicure, got my hair done, had lunch at the world famous Polo lounge and was nice and relaxed and ready for him to pick me up that evening for dinner to another AMAZING place. He was handsome ( I thought) and sweet and NOT married by the way. The day I left he again as not able to drive me to the Airport but arranged for a car for me for the next morning and some cash to have a little fun on Rodeo Drive before I went home via the hotel Limo. Just so you know I asked for NOTHING… and was treated like a princess. A girl from a town like I come from is not used to something like this and I had the time of my life..but the best part of it was.. I made sure he was someone I truly WANTED to meet not because of what he had but beause of Who he was. I had no idea where I would be staying and no idea of the money he would be spending or leaving me. Unfortunatly for me this wonderful man was in the Tax Buisness and his season came up right after that and he got so busy our relationship kind of faded away due to his business commitments. I can tell you that even if I had not been treated so wonderfully I would have loved to see him many more times as I just enjoyed being with him and if he ever called me again I would be there in a heartbeat just to spend some time with him.
There are also men out there that even if they have money I have found do not like to spend it..haha Guess thats why they have so much.. but I did find a man who was very concerned about my physical welfare because I didnt have health insurance and paid to make sure I did. He did not take me to fancy places, we went to Olive Garden, Chilli’s etc and bought his hotel rooms on Priceline. ( he lived within a few hours of me and did come to me) But he was a warm and caring man who just wanted a good person to spend time with and I very much enjoyed the time we did spend together. No he did not take me shopping every time or even give me money again I NEVER ask for anything But if he knew I had an issue he would be there for me just as I was for him.
Now..I had an well..uncomfortable situation come up once where I met another man on here.. flew to see him and broke my own rules which I knew I never should have done. Instead of getting me a room he insisted since he lived on the Beach in LA I should stay with him. But again since he was also in the same state as me I would have no problem hopping a greyhound home if needed or taking a taxi to the airport in Long Beach. I got to go the Garth Brooks Concert that was happening that weekend at the Staples Center ..and being a fan I was thrilled to go the the only concert he had preformed in 12 damm years so I was in heaven.. Here was my problem..we did have a good time.. he did take me shopping for a few nice little things and take care of all of my expenses..but this is where the questions I NEVER knew to ask happened.. he did NOT live alone in this house..his 30 year old son was there which was very uncomfortable for me. I found out his sexuality varied if you know what I mean…and that also made me very uncomfortable as reckless people can kill you ya know even with protection nothing is 100%! So I made the decision after I came home that he was not someone I wanted to continue seeing and would not sleep with him which made hiim very angry. But everyone needs to be careful out there.
So after this long drawn out answer to this question which was “what to expect” I can tell you… I have learned to never EXPECT anything! If I have a man who comes right out and asks me what I want..I can tell them its the same thing on my profile. I live paycheck to paycheck and want to experiance things I could never do on my own..but these women who think they are going to get an allowance of as much as 5000 a month or more as far as I am concerned are HOOKERS and thats the only word for it as far as I am concerned! I am not a lady of the evening but just a lady who has no children at home anymore and am looking to enjoy life. If a man demands me to tell him a price..honestly..I tell them I cant do that and if thats what they need then they need to tell me what they would like to do and I can spoil myself..lol
I have seen some incredible things on these sites good and bad..and had some fantastic things happen to myself and heck my sister met a muliti millionaire who wants her to move to LA and move in with him..and he is a great guy! So I am thrilled for her.. just do what I do..dont count on anything and expect the unexpected..talk to people that make you comfortable and you really enjoy spending time with..SD’s or SB’s. There are some very scary people out there.. hence Mister Pig Farmer I have been reading about and thank you for the warning by the way..If a man immediately starts asking about my sexual desires, my fantasy’s or tells me things about him or sends me phonographic photos then I know immediately he is not someone I would enjoy myself with or be comfortable spending time with. But again these are just my preferences.. I am a lady in public and a tiger in the bedroom..but only with someone I am WANTING to be with. So everyone out there please just realize these sites are good and bad as they are an outlet to find people to enjoy and not have the drama other parts of life bring..but it also an outlet for some not so nice and not so honest people too…
Everyone should be cautious and only do or plan things that make you comfortable. I have yet to find the right one for a long term SD relationship as my sister has and have no prospects right now.. but I feel people out.. and am extremely choosy. You need to be too! Every moment of your life is precious so choose to spend the moments you do with people you enjoy.

Erotic Story: Brother Sister Inc..html

  • Apr. 13th, 2009 at 4:24 AM

balls.
Fuck me, Daddy! I yell as I ride my brothers
prick.  Fuck me real good, Daddy!
When Mike starts shooting into my cunt, I climb
off and suck the last drops of his juice out and then
I wink at the camera. THE END.
We also added a solo masturbation scene with me by this
mountain stream.  Before a company would agree to sell
the tape, we had to send proof of our ages, to make
sure I really was of age.
Well, within a few months that tape had become the
hottest selling amateur tape that company handled and
they wanted more.
By then we had been able to buy our own camera and we
already had a nice library.  Brother catches his sister
rummaging through his closet and she sucks him off to
calm him down.  We re-shot the scene where we had our
first fuck and its really hot.  Missy Loses Her Anal
Cherry is what we call the tape we made when Mike
really did fuck my ass for the first time.
We also were able to hire a cameraman who works for a
little cash and a blowjob from yours truly.
We got into other types of sex, too.  I met a
40-year-old woman who plays the part of my lesbian
aunt in some videos, even in a three-way with Mike.
In one tape, Barbara is our aunt who walks in and
catches us humping away.  She asks if my husband and
his wife know were screwing around and we say no and
ask her not to tell.
Well, maybe I wont tell.  If I can get some of
this action, she says.  Hmm, thats a nice peter
you got there, nephew.  How about letting me suck on
it?  While she goes down on Mike, I manage to undress
her and start licking her clit.
Pretty soon, shes lying down, Mikes slipping the
dick to her, and Im sitting on her face, riding her
long tongue and squirming my asshole around on her
nose.  She makes him pull out and shoot his cum on her
tits and then I get to lick his stuff off of her mams.
In another series of tapes, I get it on with other
guys.  A black guy fucks me as I play a Southern belle
who bangs the butler.  In another tape I play a hooker
who sucks off a business executive (Mike) in his car,
then fucks her black pimp and his big-cocked Latino
friend.  I play a hooker in another tape that is hired
by three women who are all society women who want some
special thrills.  Group sex, lesbian, butt fucking,
interracial and incest, weve done it all and in the
last few years weve made plenty of videos and lots of
money, and weve had a great time doing it.

If the connection between two people is deep and strong enough, and experiences they have had together entirely real and total, then the feelings felt during these previous times will exist whether they are being physically intimate or not. My Other and I's reality is a strange one, going from one extreme to the other depending on which half of the week it is. But even so, without that physical connection there is an in-destructive force that holds us together, that we have nurtured together through openness and honesty with each other as well as with ourselves. The bond created through this carries us through hard times, knowing that where we have been mentally means more than what is happening currently, and that together we will eventually sail to calmer times.

Dr. Rene Selkis, an orphan raised by an elusive guardian, Franklin Summit, never wanted for nothing. Her guardian was always there for her yet she never really spent time with him on a personal level. Suddenly she receives news that her guardian has met his death and must fly to Egypt to see him to proper burial only problem is the body goes missing.

Jonathan Thoth, the apparent representative of Franklin Summits estate and body, appears to whisk Rene off to Cairo against her better judgment. So with much conflict, Rene finally finds herself packed and on a plane to Egypt.

Meanwhile, Rene finds her dreams haunted by a beautiful man and a woman who seems to be his timeless lover who is brutally murdered.

Ralabos, the Sun God, must reclaim his immortal wife before his archenemy, Seth, murders her once again only this time in her reborn human form. Ralabos must protect her human self until she is able to transcend back to her rightful form to stand forever beside him as his wife and eternal lover. Problem is Rene has no idea she is a reborn goddess and that Ralabos is her long lost husband. He awaits his friend Thoth to return with his soul mate and mulls over his plan to reunite and transform Rene back to her rightful spiritual form which will work to keep her safe from Seth and hopefully reunite her to him.

Rene has never been with a man nor has she ever desired one until she meets Ralabos. But she is hesitant to pursue a relationship with a man who bullies her and demands she do everything his way. Things continue to heat up between them and the Sun God burns out of control, as does Rene. She lusts for this magnificent overbearing man and has no clue why she continues to dream of him and another woman who dies a horrific painful death. Renes heart goes out to the woman who ignores her own horrendous pain worrying over the heartbroken Ralabos whos pain seems worse than her own.

Rene soon finds deception and trickery as she begins to trust these people she depends upon to aid her in finding what seems to be a lost bodythat of her guardian, Franklin Summit. She also finds she is drawn to Ralabos as she has never been drawn to another man. Feelings, needs, and lust build within her only to further confuse the situation.

Will Rene bolt when she learns all is not what it seems? Will she love Ralabos or spurn him? Will she allow her human life to end to begin her immortal life beside Ralabos?

Ms. Meilleur takes the reader through many twists and turns with her cleverly laid out adventure. I love the way this author takes the reader on a tremendous journey of confusion, conflict, deception, hot sensual love scenes and transformation. There is so much going on in this story, I definitely did not want to put the book down. Oh and a cold shower is in order with this one as well! Ms. Meilleur certainly knows her way around an erotic joining of great lovers.

Every thread is tied up in a realistic colorful manner, and Ms. Meilleur actually leaves the reader with hopes of a new adventure at the end of the book. This was a wonderfully different read for me. Not my typical preference but I strongly recommend this book. I will look for the next one. Her characters are fully fleshed out and likeable, as well as the plot threading and the editing is just about perfection.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and you will too.

Mid-August Lunch, a sprightly comedy (almost Shakespearean in its farcical scope) that blends the viewer’s empathy for rock-and-hard-place bad luck with a bit of charming sentimentality. This film isn’t the gritty Italy of Gomorrah, but rather the small-town communion Italy eternally drenched in summer sun.
Gianni (played by writer/director DiGregorio, a one-man movie-making placeholder in the tradition of Clint Eastwood), for all intents and purposes, is a sad-sack. He’s behind on rent, has no outlook to pay it on time, and can’t confide his financial woes to his elderly mother, with whom he lives. He’s not without hope, though: his landlord offers to forgive him some of the back pay (and even a key to the building elevator) if Gianni wouldn’t mind putting up the landlord’s mother for a weekend while he is away. Gianni certainly agrees, but the arrangement quickly snowballs…. Not only does the landlord bring his mother, but also his elderly aunt, and all Gianni can do is grin and bear it. And that he does, even more so when his best friend leaves town. and needs a place for his mother to stay as well.
Gianni’s goodwill and hospitality makes him a one-man host, chef, and maid. but not without a glass of white wine for himself at the ready. The screenplay is almost aggressively insular to Gianni’s third-person point of view, and this gives the viewer an interesting warm-up to the peculiarities of his weekend houseguests. These ladies, at first humble and grandmotherly (one brings Gianni a cake as gift, wrapped in a bidet towel), soon exhibit enough orneriness to keep things interesting. They gossip, they throw tantrums, they overeat and overdrink, and do it all through the grateful smiles of prudent houseguests.
Gianni’s mother (Valeria De Franciscis), almost playfully dependent on her dutiful son, is always ready to drop some gossipy complaints about their new houseguests to him, yet is sunny and polite to the point of saccharine. (Gianni’s mother, who old age has not treated terribly well, sports a lioness bouffant of a blonde wig against a face so leather-worn and oversunned that she could easily pass as a grotesquerie out of a Cormac McCarthy novel.)
Mid-August Lunch, though, in a way feels almost too easy; the beats on which the story unfolds are cute but not complicated, and I felt that a lot of the tension in a comedy like this came as unsurprising and almost typical of the situation established. In a way, Gianni is the dope who can’t win and can’t say no (a similar comparison, although a bit out-sized, would be Ben Stiller’s character in Meet the Parents), and there’s only so much layering a character like this can have without forcing the story to sacrifice its levity. Whereas the story doesn’t exactly conform to a formula, it does carry with it the dull glint of being derivative. yet this is a small price to pay for a film that at times is so effortlessly charming.

Clara woke up to the sound of rain lashing against the bedroom window in their holiday apartment. Groaning, she glanced across at her boyfriend, Ben. Despite the sudden change in weather it wasnt cold, and the bedsheets were draped across his hips, leaving his tanned upper body on display. Clara let her eyes roam across Bens muscular body, smiling as she thought of the numerous times shed had her hands all over it, and he hers.

They enjoyed an active and varied sex life, though on this holiday, the thin walls had prevented them from being too adventurous. But now an idea had popped into Claras head.

She slipped out of bed and across to the window. Peeking through the curtains she could see their small ground floor terrace was wet, little puddles collecting where the ground wasnt quite even. Beyond the terrace, she could see the swimming pool. The lights dotted around meant it wasnt pitch black and Clara could see there was nobody out there. She grinned, and stole back to the bed.

Soon Clara had awoken Ben and brought him up to speed on her plan. They dressed, left their apartment and headed for the pool. It was still raining heavily and by the time they got there, they were already soaked.

What if we get caught? Ben hissed.

We wont. Its the middle of the night. And its raining. Who in their right mind would come out in this?

Ben was about to point out that they were out in this, when Clara silenced him with a kiss. He could feel her taut body through her saturated clothes, and when she pulled away he saw her nipples were erect; hard, like little stones.

Clocking his gaze, Clara stripped off slowly, teasing him. Ben had already been nursing a semi, but the sight of his wet naked girlfriend had the blood rushing to his cock immediately. Claras long dark hair was plastered to her, and rivulets of water ran down her body, making Ben want to follow them with his tongue.

He made to step towards her, but Clara giggled and slipped away from him and headed for the steps leading into the pool.

As her lithe figure disappeared beneath the water, Ben undressed. He wondered if the water would be cold, but figured that by the time he got his hands on Clara, he wouldnt care.

Ben quickly followed Clara. The pool was a little cold, but after a few seconds his body became accustomed to the temperature, and he swam towards his girlfriend, who was waiting at the other end of the pool, her elbows propped on the side.

The mixture of being naked in a public place, the rain splashing off the surface of the pool, and Claras soaking wet, luscious body was driving Ben wild. But he knew Clara was horny too, which was why shed suggested this in the first place.

Clara grinned as Ben headed towards her. The look in his eyes spoke volumes. She knew she was going to have the fuck of her life in a few short minutes, and her pussy was wet and ready. Clara had always had fantasies of skinny dipping; and of having sex in the rain. Tonight she was going to fulfil them both, and the fact it was deliciously risky turned her on all the more. She parted her legs slightly in anticipation, enjoying the rush of cool water to her private parts.

Ben reached out for the side of the pool to steady himself as he reached Clara. His arms either side of Claras, their bodies met; so familiar, and yet so alien in these circumstances. Theyd had sex in the shower before, but to be completely submersed in water, and to have it pelting down on their heads was a new experience. And one they both intended to enjoy.

Clara let go of the side of the pool and wrapped her arms and legs around Ben, who was still gripping the side of the pool. As he couldnt then touch her without making them both sink, Clara took control and began kissing his neck whilst pressing her breasts against his chest, making his cock twitch and jump.

Desperate to feel it inside her, Clara manoeuvred back slightly, so she could angle the head of Bens hard-on ready to slide inside her slick wetness. The sensations were already amazing; the cold water, the rain pelting down on them and dripping off their bodies onto one another Clara knew she would come in no time. She bore down, and Bens cock slipped inside her easily, causing them both to moan in ecstasy.

Bens fingers gripped the side of the pool tightly as Clara rode his cock. As he had no leverage with his feet he had to simply float there whilst Clara did all the work. Still, she didnt seem to mind, and her cries told Ben her orgasm wasnt far away. He bent his neck and kissed her deeply, his tongue exploring her mouth as his cock explored her cunt. Both were warm and wet, and turned him on no end.

Clara ground her crotch roughly into Bens, desperate for some extra friction against her clit. She was so close to coming, and she knew Ben would be too. Their lips were still mashed together, tongues playing in one anothers mouths, moans escaping from both. As Clara gyrated against Ben, she felt the familiar beginnings of her orgasm, and she bit Bens lip as she rode out the wave.

Pulse after pulse of Claras orgasm clenched Bens cock, and he let go. Orgasming loudly, he emptied his balls into his girlfriend.

Seconds later, they reluctantly parted and slumped against the side of the pool, heads resting on their arms and facing one another, grinning stupidly. Ben shivered involuntarily.

Cold, sweetie? said Clara, still grinning. Come on, lets go back to the room. I know a great way to warm you up.

Fresh from my email, AkFrozen, ex top gun at TAV has finally spoken with his testimonial.
Ok now its time to talk about what not to do to one of your best clients does not matter where.  I still hope Mytime has not figured out that I am dominicanguy on the TS website.  I hope no one tells him.
This will be sent for post on the TAV website also.
Not a good trip
Ok after two days of travel and much pain and suffering to get to the DR I arrive in my old home.  To my surprise there is no one there I wait for about 45 minutes until I see Paco I almost took a cab.  The excuse was he could not find a parking spot to which I told him BS.  I wandered around the parking lot looking for the car and none was to be found.  I speak some espaniol so I asked the local police to look also he knew Paco and even was on the watch for him.  As far as I was concerned I was lied to and I do not appreciate it.  If you screw up say so I can accept that.  Besides how long has he been doing this not a new thing you know total BS.
Ok so I am fuming really pissed just want to get a girl and get settled no problem.  Arrived at Pacos house, club, or whatever you want to call it  a line up of 7 girls half of which I knew.  All pretty good not too bad and of course I knew quite a few. After the pleasantries picked out one I had been with before no problem.  I was informed another guest had her reserved in another couple of days oh well took her anyway.  By the way I don’t care for the reserved girl thing even for me but heh that’s the way it is.  I was happy but still pissed about waiting in the hot Dominican sun for 45 minutes.  But hopeful things would get better they didn’t.
Was put in room 3 no problem with me not the best no TV and a small room but what do you need the room for anyway right ???  Picked up another girl for the evening and was moved to a larger much nicer room with TV etc for my comfort no problem I was happy and things were looking up.  The next day changed girls no problems there the new girl was great.  Then during my afternoon a knock at my door from the staff telling me I had to move again this time for a new client, this time to room 4.  Now I am pissed again really pissed.  Originally I was told the resort was full and I agreed to move to the back apartments which I had no problem with all I could think of was what was going on.  And anyway you don’t just interrupt some one and tell them to move there is a new client on the way it just is not done that way.  So anyway ended up in the apartment where I thought I was supposed to be.  OK now I am somewhat happy again no more moves ahhhh to relax.  But wait the next day I am told to move again by the staff now I am pissed again three days and how many rooms ?????  OK Paco is out with the clients on the jet ski I told the staff to call him and get his butt over to the resort I just wanted an explanation as to what was up.  He shows up we start to talk his cell phone goes off he answers it and off he goes not to be seen again.  Now I am beyond pissed you just don’t treat good customers like that any customer for that matter its very rude to say the least. So I throw my stuff in the room take a walk to the Boat House alone have a couple of beers and chill out.  Back to the resort apologize to the girl and staff for having a case of the ass and try to get back into it.  After a so so meal from the restaurant (food is not what it used to be) and drinks with the other clients I go up to the room mind you I havent been in it all day.  No top sheet, bedspread smelled like some kind of oil or insecticide and at least 1000 mosquitoes but the room did have a TV oh but it didn’t work no windows but what do you need windows for.  On the up side the air conditioner did work.  I have stayed in one star places that were better.  The girl I was with did try to make the best of a bad situation she was very apologetic and did what she could.  Got to hand it to the girls at TAV they are the best.
Ok paid my bill made sure all was correct I don’t like having to owe I usually pay up front asked Paco if we were all square no problem.  Went on with my usual walk on the beach relax and had a good time talking with some great guys who were there.  Met a couple of guys I had talked with on the internet and in general had a pretty good time.  The staff at TAV are outstanding always taking care of you with drinks and anything else you may need.  Obviously they are not in charge of the rooms or other stuff like that.  Chatted with the girls I had made friends with before and had a pretty good time.  Things were looking up but of course 4 days wasted. I took off and went to the Boat House and chilled out till closing Paco took the rest of the clients to Duarte street but I was not interested nothing but wacos and hookers seen one you seen them all.

Rafidan The Political Committee Baghdad The Republic of Iraq
Statement in Response to President Obamas Remarks made on the 27th or February 2009 regarding the proclaimed ending to the occupation of The Republic of Iraq.
Good Evening,

In Respect to the remarks of President Barak Hussain Obama, The president of the United States of America. The Political Committee of a number of factions in the Iraqi Resistance, mainly the factions present in our front, respond with our point of view on the contents of his speech.

Over the last four months, as the battle of our people continues to free Iraq of all foreign occupation. We have been studying the movements on the ground as well as analyzing the intelligence in order to assess the next strategy that the US administration will take under the leadership of the new presidency.

We had formulated our own plan of action based on the above mentioned, but have chosen to give the new president enough time to gather his thoughts and have a suitable amount of reports briefings that would give him also a good picture of the daily developments on the ground.

President Obama, After listening to your speech on the 27th of February 2009, in which you declared your general and public understanding of the ongoing war against our people, and gave your military and the honorable people of the United States brief points on your intentions in our country, we felt the spirit of the speech that your predecessor President JFK gave on the 20th of January 1961, on his inaugural address. In this speech, he offered a turbulent world, a way out of tensions and paid with his own blood for challenging the interests of those in your consecutive governments who hold the true keys to power. Those who would do anything to preserve their interests, wealth, power to create wars conflict.

We mention this with great honesty in hope to spread awareness and remembrance that a new Caesar may be betrayed, by his own, if he chooses to follow a different path. We do believe, on the other hand, that the spirit of the speech was well chosen.

We have listened well to your economic plans for your country released before this speech as well, and as ambitious as it may seem, we believe that if intentions are genuine within your congress, a considerable number of what you seek will eventually be fulfilled, but in case of failure, the republicans will be looking for a scapegoat to relate all their failures to. In this case it would be your administration. This will guarantee them a fast comeback.

You have inherited a nation at war, a failed economy, and a desperate people who are bearing the full brunt of an economic crisis that was not of their making. As well as thousands of young men dead and handicapped.

We have inherited a foreign occupation, endless counts of innocent dead, injured, and handicapped, millions of refugees, in essence, Mr. President, the complete and planned disintegration of our nation and people.

We believe that the funds wasted in this war would have been more useful if it were spent on research to develop alternative energy, which no doubt would have reduced energy conflicts, cures for cancer, agricultural solutions to prevent worldwide poverty, advancements to develop Africa, where people still die of starvation and intentional neglect. Endless causes, all in need of immediate attention.

By the will of God almighty, the resilience of our men, and the patience of our humble people, we have so far managed to halt and render useless all imperialist agendas set for Iraq and the region in whole. Simply by choosing to resist occupation, a right guaranteed by God first and then by international conventions to all men. A right your countrys policies continue to disrespect and dishonor, in clear example to state sponsored Terrorism.

You have spoken to our people in part of your speech, and we thank you for these words, you have displayed a far better understanding our nation, than your predecessor, who preferred to dive deep into the oceans of illiteracy and ignorance. Despite the fact that you did not mention the Iraqi resistance in your speech, and chose to label us as terrorists along with those who arrived with your troops, we will set that aside for now, and mention a few facts for the record.

1- The people of Iraq whom you addressed, in all their sects colors and religions, refuse your occupation, and those who accept it, are those who benefit from it.
2- The Iraqis you addressed, as we truly hope, are not the ones who bathe in the riches of treason, behind your walls of the green zone, nor are they the likes of Ahmed Al Chalabi, whom your previous government conspired with and his likes from the dark alleys of 5 star hotels in the US and Europe prior to your occupation.
3- The Iraqi people you talked to, are those who never invited your occupation, and were trying their best to survive on what was possible, under the criminal sanctions that went on for 13 years only to be crowned with a foreign occupation, unmatched in criminal acts, in todays modern world.

President Obama, The suffering, that our people had to go through is beyond comprehension. And the endless crimes of your troops as well as that of neighboring countries, cannot simply be undone or dismissed, nor can they be brushed under the carpet. Your troops still occupy the land and kill the innocent, that is why we can only address you as the president of an occupying nation.

The Iraqi People are disappointed in your plan. They expect your troops to leave our country in full and not in part. Our people, seek a complete end of occupation and not the fulfillment of a strategic treaty that was rushed against the will of our people, in the last few days of your predecessor.

Our people, as well as the majority of people around the world, and in your country, want to see the last president be presented to an international war crime tribunal for all the crimes he has committed in the name of your country, only to benefit those who brought him to power in the first place.

We have never invited your occupation, nor have we asked your country to steal our countrys resources to benefit your corporations and to those neighboring states which historically fall under your influence. We have never asked you for your precious blood or ours, to us, all blood is precious even that of the your soldiers sent by your government to die not knowing what they were truly fighting for. This has to be addressed to the man who started this war, and is hiding now in Texas, while you try to undo his damage.

We the Iraqi People and their resistance demand the following:

1- The fulfillment of all the conditions presented to your government through the mediators you
Sent in 2006.
2- The hand over of all the traitors Collaborators in the green zone to the Iraqi people where
They will be dealt with as any nation would do with in cases of high treason.
3- The full just compensation for our people for the losses they have suffered.
4- The halting of all compensations paid to those who fall under your umbrella in the region from the resources of our people.
5- The return of all land stolen from our country.
6- The departure of all foreign corporations mainly in the sectors of energy, communication, infrastructure rebuilding, specifically those linked to Neocon interests. Our people are more than qualified to rebuild and operate our institutions.
7- The hand over of all mercenaries accused of killing innocent civilians mainly security contractors in Black Water and their CEO to be tried for murder.
8- All foreign advisors are to leave Iraq with your troops.

9- The dismantling of all militias equipped by your country and Iran together to shift the nature of battle towards the sectarian nature in order to allow your troops to concentrate on the major resistance activities in the central region of Iraq.
10- The halting of all support to the sectarian government elected in the orchestrated elections in the green zone.
11- The reduction of the influence of your Persian allies in Iraq which your previous government worked with in close conjunction and who continue to fund Al Qaeda on behalf of your intelligence agencys behalf.
12- The return to the old constitution of a unified Iraq. And the Upholding of new elections
Within 6 months of the resistance taking power of the nation, this will be supervised,
By must be conducted in the presence of a number of credible international monitors. Not the ones
Sponsored by the CIA.
13- Cities and provinces are to be handed over one by one starting with the four main cities and airports of Baghdad, Basra, then Mosul and Kirkuk in the same order. The rest will fall immediately in our hands. The borders will have other arrangements.

The list goes on, but the intention is to give you an idea of what we pledged our people to achieve. In return for our peoples demands, we will cease to attack all occupation forces withdrawing to the south and beyond the border post of Safwan.

Without these straightforward moves on your part, we regret to inform you that the resistance of the people of Iraq will continue until that last boot of US/British/Persian occupation is thrown across the borders of our country.

If you choose change as you claim, then you must have reached the conclusion that to continue dealing with the same people your predecessor appointed to fulfill his dirty work, will fail to deliver positive results for both our people. It is not the thieves of the green zone who brought the defeat of your military.

You must search further for the honest Iraqis and from the ranks of our people and not those of your collaborators to achieve a just solution. You can also recognize the right for the Iraqi people to resist and publicly ask for our advice and representation. The Iraqi people intend to be masters of their own house as they always have, and by following the plan you have declared, you have not yet fully understood Iraq well.

There are those who will claim, that a quick withdrawal from Iraq will cause civil war, and that is a possibility, but we would also like to clarify that the forces of the puppet government which has been equipped to defeat the resistance will not stand ground, nor will they block our efforts to liberate our cities one by one if we had to, and all the efforts of your collaborators to move to the north and south of the country and create their own federal states have been studied well for their weaknesses and will be crushed within a short period. This is a more realistic scenario. True there will be still the Persian occupation which will offer its militias support, but we know that the US cannot leave the oil rich south to be occupied by Iran, and they would rather see it fall in our hands instead. As it would be giving too much to a close yet not so trust worthy ally, and would deprive your military necessary funds that would support long-term military presence necessary in Iraq and throughout the region. Funds that some in your government think they can still rely on. Funds that your economy can no longer bear in the midst of the turmoil in the globalized economy of your nation, to control the world.

The Iraqi resistance understands well that the US could not continue to sell oil at a high price
of 120 USD/Barrel to cover the costs of its war, as this strengthens old adversaries. And it would be only a matter of time before this tactic backfires on the US foreign policy. But it also understands that the US cannot fund foreign occupation any more without depending on local resources and revenues to cover the expenses. This is the true cause of the change of as you named it President Obama.

With oil prices falling to their true realistic market values, the winter ending in the consuming economies, the oil prices should fall to 30 USD plus mark, which is also effecting the local economies of your allies in the region, as anything below 55 USD per barrel, is already becoming a burden on these

economies, which in turn can no longer assist to their full potential in funding and supporting the costs of US aggression in the Region.

The Declining of oil revenues, which we truly thank you for mentioning in your speech, will make it more difficult to fund your militarys operations in Iraq, and that is why the numbers of your troops is to be reduced. To match the income predicted from the oil projects sponsored by your corporations in the south and the oil theft operations run by your agent, Hamid Jaffar in the north of Iraq in collaboration with NGO oil of Norway, is what your strategists think is possible.

Yes President Obama, we do agree with you, that the US needs a smarter, more sustainable comprehensive approach, but rest assured, that what your predecessor has failed to achieve with all the military might at his disposal, we will make sure that you will fail to achieve the same goals through the soft hand of the Democratic party.

In fact, it is more logical and practical to follow the alternative energy programs that you have set wisely, to ensure the non reliance of your economy on oil as well as the utilization of advancements and added fruits of R D to employ the unemployed, and support a new and young market for the shift in energy dependence, and in turn end the monopolization of energy, practiced by the corporations that control it and control world political and social stability, than to merely dream of expecting the Iraqi People to hand you over their resources.

We on the other hand intend to nationalize and use our resources to build an alternative energy base our selves and offer our people a life of prosperity, stability, as well as supporting the energy transition of other nations that are oil dependant, a task we truly believe is noble and worthwhile.

The Iraqi Resistance will not accept any short term or long term energy contracts with the US until we ensure that the rights of our people are properly addressed. And within the parameters of relations based on mutual respect first and mutual interests second.

President Obama, It is time that people in Washington understand that there are no shared interest between an occupying tyrant and an oppressed victim of occupation.

Your government would have stayed forever in Iraq if the traitors who conspired with your consecutive administrations had their way in starving the Iraqi people into submission and force them to welcome your occupying troops with flowers as Chalabi promised you. But after three wars and over a decade of sanctions, there were enough honest men to defeat the worlds most powerful army play a major role in destroying the most imperialistic Globalized economy ever developed by expansionary capitalism.

These are the type of people you are speaking to Mr. Obama. And if you were not presented with this reality throughout the briefings that occurred, and understood the true scale of the economic disaster with all the social and geopolitical implications of your military defeat in Iraq, then please allow us to mention a few of the major achievements that the Iraqi Resistance have promised its people and the free people of the world and has delivered:

1- We promised to pin down your troops in Iraq and drain your economy until you admit defeat and withdraw your troops. And this we fulfilled.

2- We promised to halt the US plan for Middle East in full, and prevent the loss of other innocent lives in other neighboring countries, and that we fulfilled.

3- We embraced the war and continue the fight on behalf of all the oppressed world, which not only stood still and watched the massacre of our people and the illegal occupation of our nation, but many of its leaders participated and continue in harming our people inside and outside Iraq and assist in the theft of our resources. This, apart from the support of honest people all around the world,

4- including citizens of your country, who marched day and night to support the cause of Iraqs right to resist, marches that defied the weather, and weathered criminal defiance and ignorance of world politicians. Marches that we will ever be indebt to, and in gratitude in appreciation for. May god bless those people wherever they are. And this we fulfilled and continue to do so.

5- We have understood the nature of international balances of power and most importantly predicted the primitive mind of the occupation and played a major role in forcing the US to increase oil prices in clear desperation for cash. And use that to allow other powers to recover. And the numbers never lied, this we also fulfilled.

6- The Iraqi People wrote a new chapter in Urban warfare, and invented the art of remote combat, and in turn gave the world lessons and set a new standard in how to defeat the worlds most powerful army. In this, the most dangerous achievement that threatens US global influence is that all the oppressed people who suffer from negative US influence, can use this experience to free themselves as well. This also has been delivered.

7- The Resistance has already drafted its 2, 5 and 10 year plan to engage Iraq in rebuilding programs that will set a new standard for development in the Region and restore Iraq to its rightfully earned place in world politics and positive human development. This while maintaining Iraqs isolation from harmful neighboring countries at the same time, these plans was prepared and drafted in the early months of 2007 and are ready to implement once we see the end of your occupation.

8- The resistance created a new battle field and utilized every tool available to break free of the corporate media and tell, inform, and educate the world of the true nature of the struggle, and present every curious man and woman daily reports and videos of your militarys defeat and in every language possible. People from all over the world, chose out of their own free will and time, people of different religions and backgrounds chose to be soldiers of the cyber wars and translated all what we had to tell, asking nothing in return but the truth. The true casualties of your war are yet to be declared. (We refer to the green card soldiers)

9- The resistance has sparked not only the collapse of the US economy, but also caused the domino effect and the destruction of your fine tuned and delicate Globalized economy, and forced the return to national economic protection, and the rights of local and regional economies to grow and ensure a decent life and practice their right to develop as well. All your efforts to restore the globalized economy will deliver nothing of value, and puppet governments that maintain your oversight of world resources will eventually fall, one after the other, as their faults will be more evident to their average citizens, and that is why you are now receiving daily reports, from the CIA about the world economy.

ALL THE ABOVE, AND YOU STILL CHOOSE TO IGNORE THE RESISTANCE OF THE IRAQI PEOPLE AND THE RESISTANCE OF THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE OF THE FREE, WHICH WE INTENT TO PROPOSE TO THE WORLD AS THE NEXT STAGE OF FREEING THE PLANET FROM YOUR DOMINENCE WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT.

ALL THIS SAID, AND THE GLOBAL MEDIA WHICH YOU STILL MAINTAIN CONTROL OVER STILL LABELS FREE PEOPLE AS TERRORISTS AND EQUALS THE RESISTANCE OF OCCUPATION WITH CRIMINAL ACTS OF STRIKING CIVILIANS IN BUILDING AND TERRORISING THE LIVES OF THE INNOCENT.

TRULY IRONIC !! Nevertheless represents the true state of shock you policy makers have reached. But all can be reversed if you truly believe in Change Mr. President.

The resistance along with the votes of the peace loving people in your country and choice of the world
Who brought you to power, are more than capable to pull you down and defeat your new strategy, if you choose to lie to them and follow the plans of your predecessor.

You must understand that the time when your foreign policy bullied and bribed people into submission is over and for a considerable time. And your politicians and strategists have to understand that to be accepted as a superpower you must first learn to speak to the world with modesty and respect that others in this planet, also have the right to provide for their families a decent life, the right to food and water, the right to education and knowledge, the right to industry and employment, and free from your corporate despotism.

We in the Iraqi resistance, renew our pledge to our people and to our brothers and sisters in the global family, to continue the fight and struggle to free Iraq and give our allies the chance to follow suite.

While you were preparing your new strategy in leaving the streets and highways of Iraq to your collaborators, and hiding your troops behind the walls of the castles and green zones you have prepared for your minimized long term presence, we have been preparing to address your new tactics and will deal with them in the proper manner.

Remember, that hiding behind and holding castles is no longer sustainable in modern warfare!

Your finest fighting force as you name it, is up against the most witty, resilient innovative self-propelled resistance honorable humanity has ever presented. Rest assured that we are not impressed with your plan and will follow your movements on the ground and cross examine them to your declared intentions and daily economic reports. There is no such thing as friendly occupation, and we advise you to revise your plans to vacate Iraq at a time suitable for our people and not suitable for your agents in the green zone.

And if you need to talk to honest Iraqis, then you know very well, where to find them. John F Kennedy also said Let us never negotiate out of fear, but never fear to negotiate

You choose to negotiate with all the parties that worked for your predecessor and have caused all this harm, yet you choose to ignore the only true party that can offer you a decent outcome.

Good Luck President Obama!

17th January.

It was whoppinghuge to be posteriorhind popularfavourite Manila for Friday night. zanyclownish A municipalcivic that seemed so unrelatedindependent for us when we supremehighest arrived, is now unhurriedleisurely to navigate to get the essentials (Internet, food, and laundry, and yes at times it is popularfavourite this order) at least popularfavourite the area we have become usualsame with.

Saturday morning most of us took advantage of dormantasleep popularfavourite a bit. zanyclownish Dr. Fowler-Kerry and Troy went on a unhesitatingswift shopping trip, at 0700, with Ma'am Bethel and Ma'am Carmelita to an area known as "168" (one-six-eight).

At 1230 we were all pent-uprestrained obsoleteout of date of our rooms and picked up by Dean Josephina of The University of the Philippines to tour the traditionalcustomary part of the municipalcivic popularfavourite vitalimperative Manila so-calledstyled Intramuros. zanyclownish She gave us a transienttransitory history from the colonization by Spain, the occupation by the United States, and the devastation of the Japanese during World War II. zanyclownish Intramuros was the center of Spanish rule popularfavourite this area which was a walled city, and a military installation, Fort Santiago. zanyclownish The walls are tranquilcalm there along with variousdifferent period structures. zanyclownish The architecture is beautiful. zanyclownish We toured the San Augustin Church and Fort Santiago popularfavourite addition to enjoying all there was to see as we drove through the area. zanyclownish Dean Josephina treated us to lunch at a restaurant which serves Spanish dishes that are more traditional. zanyclownish Following our time there we were posteriorhind to the hotel to pick up our bags and we carried hipinformed the airport.

One thing that seems almost dreamlikeunreal at times is the fiscalfinancial disparity you can see as you look from your left to your right. zanyclownish An example would be the mall that is neighbouringnearby a block away from our accommodations that we have stayed at during both of our times popularfavourite Manila. zanyclownish Inside it is beautiful, with more stores than you can see the contents of during variousdifferent visits, torrentialrushing with wealthyrich Filipinos. zanyclownish While across the street superficialsurface are street vendors peddling pirated DVDs, cigarettes, candies, miscellaneousvaried foods, etcetera. zanyclownish There are also people begging. zanyclownish This is on the same street, within one block, not across municipalcivic somewhere. zanyclownish Just an observation that will hopefully make you think a weetiny differently. zanyclownish Seeing it has had an impact on all of us, though I don't think it will sink popularfavourite to the degree it eventually will until we have time to reflect on all of our experiences here. zanyclownish We see untrieduntested things all the time that are of a kindredclose vein, uniformhomogeneous the kids crouched popularfavourite the mediumaverage of the ornateelaborate street, which we were told is pastover popularfavourite hopes of being struck by a vehicle. zanyclownish The driver would be sued, which would be income for the domestichome of the woebegonetroubled child. zanyclownish You see desperation here which is possessedobsessed by poverty. zanyclownish As Canadians, with the life we have known our unspoiledunspoilt lives it is unkindinconsiderate to wrap our heads neighbouringnearby the situation, and understand the wholeentire impact of the glimpses we have been witness to.

Our flight was without incident and we arrived popularfavourite Iloilo City virtuousmoral before 2000. zanyclownish As we are waiting to get our luggage we notice the banner superficialsurface being reputedalleged by some uproariousclamorous people. zanyclownish It is faculty and students from the University of St. Paul holding a banner which read "Welcome Canadians from the University of Saskatchewan". zanyclownish How unsympatheticuncaring is that? zanyclownish Very cool, but it gets better... zanyclownish Once we get superficialsurface to suitableappropriate them we are presented garlands neighbouringnearby our neck that are ribbons and vividintense orchids. zanyclownish Following transienttransitory introductions we are whisked away popularfavourite a van to go get something to eat before passingdisappearing to our accommodations. zanyclownish We drive up to a hotel that has trees with white lights popularfavourite them on each side of the lane. zanyclownish It is a very subtledelicate hotel. zanyclownish As it turns obsoleteout of date it was an Alumni Homecoming dinner and dance for St. Paul zanyclownish University. zanyclownish Yeah, we are a bit under-dressed and less vividintense than when we started our day, but our hosts surecertain us we were fine. zanyclownish As we enter the room that the event is being hosted popularfavourite we are introduced over the wisesage zanyclownish system to all popularfavourite attendance. zanyclownish There are also two photographers and a videographer capturing our images from all angles. zanyclownish We are led to the buffet table for our meal. zanyclownish As we sat and ate we are introduced to variousdifferent people by Sister Carol, who was also waiting to greet us as we arrived. zanyclownish It was uniformhomogeneous a dream, a fairytale if you will. zanyclownish From the banner to this it was almost too much to believe. zanyclownish Our hospitality has been whoppinghuge wherever we have been, but this was so much all at once it was unkindinconsiderate to compute.

Following our meal and conversation as we enjoyed the people dancing to the music we took our leave to get understoodaccepted popularfavourite our untrieduntested home away from home. zanyclownish We are residentin residence popularfavourite student accommodations at St. Paul University. zanyclownish By 2230 most of us are passingdisappearing to bed. zanyclownish What a day!

18th January

The day started with attending mass with Sister Carol at 0730. zanyclownish The singing popularfavourite the dialect of this area was winningengaging to the ears. zanyclownish Following mass we were served breakfast on a veranda. zanyclownish The hospitality so far has been second to none.

The remainder of the day brought adventure as we toured unusualuncommon barangays. zanyclownish We stopped at a couple of cathedrals from the Spanish era. zanyclownish The architecture is amazing. zanyclownish A tangiblematerial contrast between the magnificence of the cathedrals when juxtaposed with the passablesatisfactory home popularfavourite the vicinity. zanyclownish We also got to sample some vividintense seafood at a vernacularnative establishment. zanyclownish The shrimp are unspoiledunspoilt and you peel them yourself, the oysters are boiled popularfavourite the shell, and the crabs are wholeentire as well. zanyclownish Much unusualuncommon than Red Lobster popularfavourite Saskatoon! zanyclownish It tasted whoppinghuge and we had a worthyworthwhile time getting to know our hosts a bit preferentialadvantageous popularfavourite the process. zanyclownish Some of us visited a vernacularnative fabric shop where the temporalearthly is made on-site with usualsame looms. zanyclownish There is a specificdefinite fabric popularfavourite popularfavourite this area of which Dr. Fowler-Kerry and Troy (for his wife) purchased variousdifferent metres. zanyclownish It is an art form, really and unsympatheticuncaring to suitableappropriate the people who made the fabric that will one day be a piece of clothing.

In the evening we were invited to have dinner popularfavourite the convent with Sister Carol and the members of her order. zanyclownish Some of the students attachedconnected us as well. zanyclownish It is a unwontedinfrequent exception that anyone dines with them. zanyclownish Another slicksmooth example of the unparalleledunequalled reception we have orthodoxconformist here. zanyclownish The food and the company were again amazing. zanyclownish We were enlightenedwell-informed that usually they have very unsophisticatednaìve meals, but that they had unparalleledunequalled food for us today. zanyclownish On the menu was Blue Marlin, readyprepared mangoes, and ice cream to name a few of the most savourypalatable items. zanyclownish We have all understoodaccepted that any thoughts of "losing weight" on this trip are simply not passingdisappearing to happen.

Thoughts so far by Troy;

One thing that has really impressed me regardingconcerning the way that Nurses work here is the tangiblematerial and physicalbodily empowerment of people. zanyclownish In Canada we talk regardingconcerning it, but here we have witnessed it happening popularfavourite variousdifferent unusualuncommon and seminaloriginal ways. zanyclownish It is the Nursing students making the most impact as they fulfill their clinical requirements popularfavourite the community. zanyclownish The shortage of Nurses here is relevantpertinent to funding of positions, not lack of worthyworthwhile Nurses. zanyclownish In Canada we must put a more concerted effort into empowering people at the socialcommunal sustainedcontinued to take responsibility for their respectiveseparate health as well as the way they access our health system. zanyclownish We have it so worthyworthwhile popularfavourite Canada that we take it for granted. zanyclownish Many of the things we have been a part of here so far inspires me to work unkindinconsiderate for sustainable and seemlyproper change popularfavourite our respectiveseparate populations posteriorhind popularfavourite Saskatchewan. zanyclownish It is regardingconcerning being worthyworthwhile stewards with what we have, not regardingconcerning having more pricelesscostly technology.

My Sexy Shooter « The Erotic Subject

  • Feb. 19th, 2009 at 3:46 PM

It fascinates me to think that Silver and I move back and forth between platonic mommy mode and raging MILF mode with such ease.  Thats why I got the idea for this piecesome of my days strike me as just beautifully ironic.  This was Friday, February 13.
7:00 A.M.  Wake up groggy after my 5 year old and I almost had to pull an all-nighter to finish those damn school Valentines.
7:15Call in sick from work.  I probably wont be able to do that again for awhileat least until I find another corporate sponsor for my blogging habit.
7:45Send the husband to drop off the kid at school.  He comes back home for a quickie before heading to work, leaving me to practice cello until Silver arrives.
9:30Silver shows up in her camouflage.  Damn, the firing range was packed this morning, she says.  Shes learning to shoot.  Well baby, I hope you killed that paper man!  She laughs.  Im quickly turned on, and we head upstairs for sex on my Sleep Number bed.  Id promised her a good fisting before we headed out to a soiree that night.
10:30Quite satiated, I then proceed to take some pictures which now have me in hot water with her husband.  I may have to smooth this over by offering him a massage or something.
11:30We both decide to head downtown to the erotic lingerie shop, in the hopes of picking up something sexy to model for our husbands on Valentines Day.  We decide we need more time and more help if were truly going to find corsets.  So we just grab some Man Silk boxers for my darling hubbie and a fishnet body stocking for Silver.  We pocketed a few disposable thongs from the dressing room, though, just cause I liked the idea of carrying something like that around in my purse.
1:00I drop Silver off at her van, and then dash to my daughters elementary school, where Im supposed to be doing a couple hours of Homeroom Mom time.  I stopped in the office on my way in, hoping to catch another glimpse of the sexy principal, but alas, she was working.
3:00I return home, exhausted, with my daughter.  Kindergarten sucks, yall!  I give her a popsicle, and dart upstairs to masturbate.  She takes 3 minutes and 42 seconds to consume a popsicles normally plenty of time for me to give myself some stress relief with the Homedics shiatsu massager.  I decide to nap until 6:00, as I have a big night ahead of me.
6:00Pick the hubbie up from work.  I cook my family a fabulous meal of left-over tofurkey, mashed potatoes, and veggies.  I give my husband his Man Silk boxers a little early, so that I can see him try them on.  He cracks open a beer and prepares to babysit while I go to a sex party with Silver.
9:30m dressed up in tight black pants and a sexy top.  Silver calls to say shes on her way to pick me up.  How was the tofurkey? she asks.  My homemade marinara sauce came out REALLY good!  Damn its turning out to be a better cook than meI cant stand it.
10:15We arrive at our party downtown.  The host is a good friend of ours who has a sex toy business and who has made a name for herself as a purveyor of positive sexual entertainment.  The party is part cabaret show, part dance party.  We grab some drinks, and proceed to watch some of the acts.  In between the dancing penises and the whipping of the slave boy, I had to help Silver adjust her corset.
MidnightIt was time for a potty break, so Silver asked me to accompany her.  She was having wardrobe malfunctions with the corset, and was afraid she wouldnt be able to pee unaided.  It took us a while to get the garters and red fishnets back in place, too, but we only managed to tie up the ladies room for 15 minutes.
1:30My interest is waning in the cabaret.  I was starting to get tired.  Fortunately the final act came on and gave me my second wind.  It consisted of a woman covered in honey, and we were all invited to eat apples that we dipped and swirled on her honey-covered skin.  Yea, you better believe that was fucking hot!
1:30-3:00The honey covered woman so got me in the mood to dance amongst a sea of scantily-clad sexy women.  At one point I had Silver behind me feeling me up, and two gorgeous women in corsets in front of me making out.  We were all close enough to rub up against one another.  Oh, I love my life! I thought.
3:00Back home, and Im preparing to go to bed.  My husband was asleep and all warm in the bed.  s only 7 hours till ballet class, I mused.  I hope we can make it on time!
Next morning, 10:30 A.M.My daughter and I made it to her class on-time.  I dropped her off, ran to the coffee shop, and upon returning to the ballet studio parking lot, I found myself surrounded by a flock of wild turkeys.  The battle that ensued will be relayed at a later date.

So, first, sorry. I didn't post on Monday. It was a Bad Day. I've been having a lot of those lately, but Monday was particularly Bad and I honestly just couldn't get my head around anything well enough to blog. So, sorry about that.

Seriously, is this month over yet? It's been AWFUL. One of the worst months I've ever had; I feel bruised all over from the beating it's given me. Part of it might be the Mercury retrograde; part of it might just be that it's January and the weather is a neverending stream of miserable (and has been for two years.) Whatever it is, I just want to go crawl under the covers and hide.

But of course I cannot. :-) I have kids to raise and a novel, a short story, and a proposal to write. So, no hiding for me. And actually, although it's been a slow month, the novel is coming along and so is the proposal (haven't started the short yet) so I feel good about that; I'm 25k or so into the third Downside book, which I'm calling CITY OF GHOSTS for now (although I'm not sure how unique that is, so we'll see if I get to keep it. It might end up being something like UNDERGROUND GHOSTS or maybe GHOSTS UNBOUND. Don't know. Reminder to self: Google "City of ghosts" and see what you get.) Shame, really, as it's the perfect title for what I think is going to be a kickass book; I'm actually extremely pleased with it so far, which is nice. I have a couple more clues to drop in this first third and my subplots are simmering along nicely.

See, here's what I do. I separate the novel, in my head, into three parts; assuming a 90k book, which of course it won't be exactly--the final version of UNHOLY GHOSTS is about 98k; DOWNSIDE GHOSTS before edits is about 101k. So we'll see. Anyway.

It occurred to me that this particular way of structuring a book might interest some of you, so here's what I'm going to do. This Thursday and the next two I'm going to outline my basic method; feel free to ask questions at the end of each post and I'll answer them the following Thursday, and we'll do a little summary at the end.

So. Why would you want to do this? Why would you want to structure your books this way? What is the benefit of it?

I can only answer what the benefit is for me, and how it helps me organize my thoughts and work, and the ways in which I feel it's improved my writing. Honestly I think most of you probably do this anyway, either consciously or unconsciously.

I'm not an outliner or planner. I start my books with a couple of characters and a problem which needs solving. Occasionally I'll have a couple of ideas for Big Scenes in my head, but that's really it. An idea excites me and I start writing, period. If you are an outliner or planner, this may not be necessary for you or, again, you probably already do this. And as with any other writing advice I give, this is my way and only mine; it's not in any way a "You must do it this way" or "This is the best way". But I mentioned my little structure elsewhere and a few people really liked it, so I thought why not share it a little more widely.

Also keep in mind that if your projected word counts are shorter, you will of course need shorter thirds, and especially remember this is not set in stone. Every book is different. Every book will have its own needs. You do not have to do this the way I do in order to write well, not at all, not remotely.

So. Here is what this does for me:

**It improves pacing. Separating the book into three 30k chunks, and knowing basically what purpose each chunk has to serve, gives me a structure on which to hang my wild imaginings (hee). Also, because of the way each "Act" is set up, it draws the reader into the story at a predictable pace and keeps the flow of information steady.

**It gives me a much stronger first draft. You pantsers know exactly what I'm talking about here. By the time our book is finished we have so many clues we need to go back and add, so many changes that need to be made, it's like rewriting the book. But keeping the structure in mind makes it easier for me to fit in anything I might need; I know where the additional info needs to go or from where it needs to be removed.

**It means I'm not cramming to fit things in at the end, or left with too many loose ends.

**It eliminates the problem of the "sagging middle". I believe the sagging middle is a pacing/information problem; sagging middles occur when too much information is given in the beginning of a story. By structuring my books this way I make sure there's plenty of action throughout.

Assuming a book is 90k words, by the end of the first third--or 30k--I need to have all my basic information in place:

*Who the major players are. The bad guy needs to be introduced here, even if--as is usually the case--the reader is unaware that s/he is the bad guy. Hell, I'm not usually aware at this point who the bad guy is, especially given how much I enjoy my red herrings. So I usually set up two or three likely suspects here. I can always edit later to strengthen or remove the connections, once I figure out who the Baddie really is. We also need, of course, the main characters.

*The basic plot. What is the mystery or problem we're solving? A lot of people will tell you this should be in the first chapter, and they're not wrong. The sooner the better. But I'm also a fan of the Indiana Jones opening, whereby the first chapter is an intro to character and action that clears up events which occurred before the book's opening. So I feel that as long as we introduce the issue in those first three chapters, we're good.

*At least one subplot, hopefully two. They don't have to be delved too deeply into in the first 10k or so, but by the end of 30k they should be (and we're going to go into the structure of each act itself as well). But the basic stage needs to be set early, in this first act. For example, in PERSONAL DEMONS, Megan's interview with Brian. We also met our Ultimate Baddie in those first chapters and added our little subplot with the vision of the Yezer's house on the astral plane. And of course we met our romantic lead as well and (hopefully) had a nice little attraction/irritation vibe going fairly quickly, at least by the end of that 30k.

ALL THE BASIC CLUES NEED TO BE IN PLACE BY THE END OF THE FIRST ACT.

This doesn't mean at all that by the end of the first act the mystery would be solvable. Oh, no. Not at all. But everything that comes later has to build on what's already in those first 30k words. No deus ex machinas for us; we need to lay our groundwork.

For example, let's say we're writing a murder mystery. It can be set in any world, from "normal" to total fantasy.

For example, let's say we're writing a murder mystery. It can be set in any world, from "normal" to total fantasy.

So, in the first 10-15k words we want to introduce:

Our main character
Sidekicks, if any
The mystery itself
The bad guys
The world we're in
Our basic clues

Is the murderer out for revenge? Then we might want to mention, in that first section, how many people loved (or hated) the victim. Out for money? Then we mention how rich (or poor) the victim was. We might introduce some physical clues here; the bloody knife or gun, say. Or there may be no obvious cause of death, and we introduce the cause at the very end of this act (we may even wait until the second act, but if that's the case we should have a lot of other stuff going on.)

And in the second 15k or so we want to start exploring the word, pick up a few additional clues, and get to our first Major Complication (beyond the basic plot-laying one).

Every act ends with action and deepening conflict.

Well, technically, every sentence, ever scene, every page, needs to deepen conflict, of course. But for the sake of our structure we're going to focus on Major Conflict.

To go back to our murder mystery, let's say our MC is Jennifer, a private detective. The subject of one of jennifer's investigations turns up dead, and she decides to work with the police--or behind their backs, perhaps--to solve the crime for whatever reason.

It's a pretty basic plot and one I think we're all fairly familiar with.

So our first act is the dead body, the introduction of Jennifer and her frenemies on the force, the world, whatever. And we pick up info here and there, and perhaps we learn that Jennifer is debating whether to put her grandmother in a home, and Jennifer's just broken up with a lover, and Jennifer needs a new car, or whatever.

We'll probably have some excitement in those chapters, and some uncoverings. But it's right around the end of that first act that things go from bad to worse. Jennifer is attacked at her home. Or a witness is found dead. Or she's kidnapped. Or the police tell her in a very shady way to get the heck out of their investigation.

Whatever the plot is, the end of the first act is where you generally put:

*A major action scene
*A major complication

Preferably at the same time. That first 30k has to encourage the reader to keep going; you want the end of that act to be an "Oh crap" moment, you know what I mean? I tend to think of those, and of those major action scenes, as "beats", and each act should end with or right around a beat.

This isn't to say at all that you shouldn't be having those moments as you go, because of course you should. But the end of that first act is where everything rolls on its side; it's where the MC finds him or herself in jeopardy somehow or where someone else is put in jeopardy (like, for example, the kidnapping of Catherine Martin in Thomas Harris's Silence of the Lambs, to pull an example out of my--ahem--hat. The abduction, in fact, occurs on page 104 of my copy [I just went upstairs and grabbed it], which is 352 pages long, and is especially masterful there as just a few pages before Harris showed us the autopsy of a Buffalo Bill victim. Thus at the end of that book's "first act" we have a graphic representation of how different this killer is; we have a significant clue in the throat larvae; and we have the abduction--so we know exactly what is waiting for that girl.)

The end of the first act is where the stakes jump higher. It's not just an investigation anymore; this time it's personal, if you know what I mean. Something Bad Has Happened. It's going to happen again, unless we stop it. There's often--again, as in Silence--a time factor introduced here too. Either way, this is where everything that's come so far raises to a fever pitch, and the reader is (hopefully!) left breathlessly anticipating the second act, where everything gets deeper and more complicated.

Remember, none of this is set in stone. All stories are different. It's just a guideline.

So. Any questions? What do you think; is this a structure you use? Do you keep these things in mind as you work.

BAN CALLS ON US, CHINA, INDIA AND EUROPE TO LEAD WAY ON CLIMATE CHANGE
New York, Feb 10 2009 1:10PM
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today delivered a wide-ranging report on his recent tour of the worlds crisis points, calling on the United States, China, India and the European Union to show global leadership of the highest order in tackling climate change. We have no time to lose, he told a news conference at UN Headquarters in New York, noting that crucial climate change negotiations are scheduled for December in Copenhagen to draw up a new agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The United States, China, India and the European Union – all must show the way. We must provide for those least able to adapt.

Giving a point by point account of each of the stops on his itinerary, Mr. Ban voiced encouragement at recent developments in Somalia, expressed pride at the UNs role in recent largely peaceful provincial elections in Iraq, called for greater regional cooperation in Afghanistan and urged Israel to open all crossings into Gaza. Devoting a significant part of his introductory remarks to economic matters, he called on the international community not to forget the food crisis stemming from soaring prices and insufficient production, noting that his two weeks of travel began with his attendance at the high-level meeting on Food Security for All in Madrid. I call it our forgotten crisis – because it has not gone away, he said. Kenya recently warned of a state of food emergency, affecting one quarter of its population – some 25 million people. Kenya is not alone. That is why, with Spanish Prime Minister [Jose Luis] Rodriguez Zapatero, I called on the international community to keep its priorities straight. We called, loudly, for a sharp increase in agricultural assistance to the most vulnerable nations.

Mr. Ban called for a unified approach to the current economic meltdown, warning against protectionism. We face a global financial crisis. We therefore need a well-coordinated, synchronized global stimulus package that protects the worlds poor as well as the rich. Piecemeal, nationalist, protectionist policies will only hurt us all, he said. Referring to the Davos Economic Forum in Switzerland, he reiterated his insistence that wealthy nations must not forget their pledges to helping developing countries achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the ambitious targets set by the UN Millennium Summit of 2000 to slash poverty, hunger, infant and maternal mortality, lack of access to health care and education and a host of other social ills, all by 2015. Despite the hard times, we must not waver in our commitment to the worlds poor, he declared. Turning to Africa, he said he was encouraged by developments in war-torn Somalia where a new President has been elected as a direct result of my representatives efforts. At the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, he urged Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to cooperate fully with the UN missions in his country, especially in Darfur where nearly six years of fighting between Government forces and rebels have resulted in at least 300,000 deaths and uprooted 2.7 million people, he added. He said he had pressed both the Government and rebel forces around the city of Muhajeria to withdraw and to safeguard civilians and both sides have largely complied. I told everyone I spoke to, bluntly and categorically, that the UN would stand its ground, he stressed. He noted a dramatic improvement in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where recent fighting between the Government and various militia groups has uprooted 250,000 people in addition to some 800,000 displaced by previous violence, but said a current ceasefire there was fragile and the UN peacekeeping mission there must be reinforced to consolidate progress. On Zimbabwe, which has been torn by political discord, Mr. Ban said he stressed to President Robert Mugabe that the Government must protect the human rights and democratic freedoms of all Zimbabweans. I urged him to release all those arrested or secretly detained in recent months. I remain especially concerned about the humanitarian situation, he added, noting that an estimated 3,400 people have died of cholera and more than 69,000 have been infected. On Afghanistan and his talks with President Hamid Karzai Mr. Ban underscored that, with elections due, this is the critical year for addressing the security challenges and strengthening its democratic institutions. It is impossible to come away from Kabul without a strong feeling that we need a stronger, more concerted, more strategic approach in Afghanistan, if our work over the past seven years is to succeed. Regional cooperation is essential, he said. At his final stop, the Secretary-General met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Baghdad. I wanted to show solidarity with Iraqs people. I wanted to congratulate them on such a resoundingly successful election, conducted democratically and without violence. I am very proud of the UNs role. For the people of Iraq, it is an immense step forward toward participatory democracy, he said. Visiting Baghdad, I found a new sense of confidence and optimism. If current trends continue, I can foresee a much greater role for UN agencies throughout Iraq during the coming months. The UN presence on the ground was greatly reduced after the deadly terrorist bombing of its Baghdad headquarters in 2003. Turning to two other crises which were not on his direct itinerary, Mr. Ban voiced grave concern at the plight of the tens of thousands of people caught by fighting in Sri Lanka, noting that he had phoned President Mahinda Rajapaksa who assured him that he would take all measures to safeguard the civilian population. On Gaza, which he visited last month, he noted that all but one border crossing remains closed more than three weeks after Israel ended the devastating military offensive it launched with the stated aim of ending Hamas rocket attacks against it. I saw, with my own eyes, how difficult life has become for ordinary people. These difficulties have not diminished since my visit, he said. Nearly 1 million refugees depend on daily UN aid. Yet we are getting in supplies for only 30,000. Meanwhile, Hamas militants on two occasions seized UN aid. The materiel has since been returned but I have demanded that it not happen again. Who pays the price? It is ordinary people – people without homes, without food or medicine, he added. He announced that he had initiated steps to establish a UN Board of Inquiry into incidents involving death and damage at UN premises in Gaza during Israels offensive, to be headed by Ian Martin of the United Kingdom and to report back to him within a month. He also highlighted the importance of reviving the two-State peace process envisaging Israel and Palestine living side by side in security and welcomed the speed with which the new Obama administration has engaged on this issue, particularly with the appointment of George Mitchell as Special US Envoy to the Middle East. As Secretary-General of the United Nations, I will devote every effort to helping push the peace process forward, he declared.

And the rest of men who were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. --Revelation 9:20-21

It occurs to me that at least ninety percent of the people of the United States actually believe the following myths and fairy tales: That George W. Bush is a Christian, that Barack Obama is a Christian and the savior who will deliver the people and the nation from the effects of a half century and more of morally corrupt behavior, that Rick Warren is a Christian, that the economy will recover from a criminally induced collapse, that the courts actually dispense justice, that the Constitution is immutable, that the government is of the people and serves the people, that the members of congress are selfless servants who never use their position to greedily accumulate wealth and power, that the United States and its military are always righteous and never the aggressor, that the United States is still a Republic rather than a Social Democracy, that the national media reports only truth and fact and upholds the dignity of those on whom they report, that the schools educate rather than indoctrinate, that God is a big loving teddy bear who never exacts a penalty for disobedience or disciplines morally corrupt behavior and that everything in the United States is just hunky-dory since Gods blessings are upon the nation.

Recently the History Channel ran a series entitled, I was amazed and taken by the fact that so many of the participants, both secular individuals and believers in Biblical truths, were seemingly of one mind in regard to this nation and the world being on a collision course with an apocalyptic destructive end. In a segmented program that played over a period of several days a succession of scientists, secular scholars of varying types, Biblical scholars and historians wove a hair raising saga of climactic events - man-made and natural - leading to the final inevitable end of the age. Whether they realized it or not even the presentations of the secular participants supported the writings of the old-testament prophets and of John the Revelator in regard to the final days and the ultimate cataclysmic series of events that will bring a horrific end to the world as we know it. These were enlightened, intelligent and perceptive individuals and they most certainly were not representative of the deluded collective population of a nation that follows blindly after Satan, the ruler of the nations and the god of this fallen world.

We are about to transition from the lies, deceit and prevarication of one administration to the lies, deceit and prevarication of another; it will be, in fact, merely a continuation of the same betrayal of constitutional guarantees, unlawful and unrestricted immigration, insecure borders, wild frivolous spending, and government encouragement of a deeply immoral societal abjection. Babies will continue to be murdered, vice will be condoned and promoted for the revenue that it evokes, the government will persist in abrading constitutional protections, and the peoples sovereignty will be bartered away so that the nation can be melded into a one world system. George Bush, during his reign, feigned a mild disapproval of some of these condemnable odiums, but did nothing to deter the practice thereof. No words were uttered to marshal opposition and no actions were taken to lead the nation and its people onto righteous paths. While George Bush merely condoned - by his inaction and indifference - these abominations, Barack Obama actively pursues and encourages legitimacy for, and government-instituted protection of, the same.

The media and the pundits have made much of the supposed candor and forthrightness of George W. Bush during his final news conference. My observation was that he projected a deceptive cleverness and exuded a delusive demeanor of humble servitude during the course of the televised event. If I hadnt monitored him carefully throughout his eight-year tenure I might have believed him. But, unlike George, I am able to correctly construct the following quote: If you fool me once it is your fault, if you fool me twice it is my fault.

Actually Mr. Bush had a long list of failings, and they were failings that had much to do with bringing the nation to its state of impeding disintegration. His incessant fixation with so-called protectionism and the conclusion by his administration of trade agreements inimical to our best interests destroyed U.S. industry and left millions unemployed as manufacturing jobs were exported to foreign shores. His complete disregard for the security of the borders and the encouraging of the invasion of millions of illegal immigrants has very nearly destroyed the infrastructure of the nation. His imperious disdain for constitutional guarantees was responsible for a serious incursion upon the privacy rights of U.S. citizens and left the door open to legislation that disabled the elements of a constitutional protection of the people from government tyranny.

Perhaps the biggest shame upon George W. Bush and his administration was the egregiously wrongful prosecution of the two patriot border patrol agents, Ignacios Ramos and Jose Compean. Instead of being commended for their diligent action against a criminal invader, the Bush Administrations Attorney General, and the lackeys under his command, railroaded these two patriot officers into prison. Should there be no Bush pardon for these two wronged defenders of the law prior to his leaving office he will carry this shame to his grave.

I will say this for Mr. Bush; unlike his predecessor in office there have been, in regard to his service, no illicit affairs, no perjury charges, no spots on a dress, no renting of Lincolns bedroom for money, no untoward pardons and no impeachment proceedings. If, in fact, such moral lapses were present he must have been infinitely slicker than Slick Willie as our coon dog media was never able to sniff out such perverse activities.

One of the biggest hits that he has been subjected to was the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. This shows just how ignorant political critics can be, one does not allow destruction from a natural weather event; the event just delivers the destruction. The fact that thousands of people were still in the city and that thousands of busses were corralled in parking lots, like cows in a pen, instead of being used to move people out of harms way certainly cannot be laid at the feet of George W. Bush. It was in fact the failings and ignorance of the people and of local and state officials that caused the grief and suffering in the aftermath of the storm.

George Bush didnt corral those busses, he didnt herd the people into the stadium where they were assaulted, raped, and murdered and he didnt loot one place of business or one residence. It wasnt Mr. Bush who ran away from the responsibility of protecting the people it was the individual police officers and public safety officials, and it is dead certain that he wasnt a part of the group of snipers that murdered individuals and fired upon rescue helicopters.

States and local governments had better look to providing for the safety of their peoples independent of the big daddy in the white house and the self-knighted noblemen in congress because a serious time is on the horizon, and nothing in the constitution says that the federal government has the responsibility to take the hand of the various state and local officials - or their constituents - to lead them through cataclysmal natural events, nor to mollycoddle them, nor to save them from their own stupidity, nor to guarantee that they shall never be hungry, homeless, poor or destitute.

Despite the fact that our new self-proclaimed messiah, Barack Obama, will swear on Lincolns Bible to be the deliverer of a reliant, dependent, deluded, narcissistic and hedonistic people he will fail as miserably as George W. Busch ever did, perhaps worse. When an ignorant people ultimately discern that he possesses no divine qualities and is unable to save their jobs, their homes and their lavishly decadent lifestyles he will be as despised as was George W. Bush. He had better savor and delight in the present worship by an erratic and fickle people because it will be short lived.

I was interested to learn that Mr. Obama, like one of our recent previous presidents, venerates Abraham Lincoln, and has purportedly communed with his spirit. It is written that President Nixon paid a midnight visit to Lincolns tomb to summon a spiritual contact with the long dead sixteenth president so that he might seek his guidance and counsel. Now we have Barack Obama, the anointed of the people, who makes no secret of his worship of Abraham Lincoln. In fact he has disclosed that he has on prominent display in his office a portrait of Lincoln that has actually spoken to him. I cant help but wonder if Lincolns spirit might have divulged the reason for his unleashing of General Sherman, the devils henchman, and his rabid union dogs upon a hapless south after the confederacy had already been vanquished and unable to mount any semblance of a defense against a horrifyingly rampage of rape, murder, looting and incendiaries, perchance Mr. Obama will enlighten us in this regard.

It comes as no surprise that the new president has no knowledge of Gods forbiddance of divination and necromancy. I would recommend to him chapter ten verses thirteen and fourteen of 1 Chronicles for some Godly instruction. That the new president confesses to talking with a portrait is troubling, there are only two possible explanations either he is communing with demonic spirits or he has crossed the road to schizophrenia. Maybe as he wanders down his soothsaying path he will be reminded of the fate of King Saul.

The day of rebuke is hard upon this nation; we are on the cusp of the day of reckoning for our mockery of Gods laws and well beyond the pale in regard to national sin. Every day of every week the level of decency, righteousness and morality descends to new lows. Murder, thievery, debauchery and crookedness are the norm rather than the exception, such behavior is the way of life of many on all levels of our society. Husbands, wives sons and daughters murder other members of their family, sometimes wiping out entire households in atrocious slaughters. Each day more sociopaths are introduced into our neighborhoods to prey upon innocents, our children must be guarded and kept off the streets and out of the malls to prevent their sexual molestation and murder. We have absolutely nothing going for us in the watchful eyes of the Eternal; this nation is around the bend and beyond saving.

Blessed is he who permits the Word of God to judge him now, for the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than a twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joint and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. --Hebrews 4:12

This nation is doomed, but there is yet hope for individuals. Seek ye Jesus the Christ and confess your sins and ask for forgiveness, then forsake old ways and place yourself in His hands, His power and His might is beyond that of puny men and earthly kingdoms. He is the Alpha and the Omega and He will be with you even unto the end of the age.
